[250w HPS + 40w CFL] {DWC LST} ~ICE & Chrystal~ (Stealth Dresser)

Hey Pontiac long time no see, I cant believe you had to start all over its a bummer but some things just cant be learned any other way then through experence, and now your back on the right path so I am extremely excited to see your results. Alot has happened since we spoke last, my grow was broken into and completely destroyed and along with it the only sanctuary that had ever provided me with a feeling of true completeness. So I will be leaveing to hitch out some two thousand miles to the West Coast in hopes of finding some kind people who will help me attain the lifestyle I am looking for. Im hopeing to find various people to help me out along the way with a place to stay over night and what not so I will be makeing a post in the general forum to see if any of the many kind souls on this board would be willing to help me in any way. Im trying to keep my head up for the time being untill I leave and hopefully find a kinder place to live.

I cant imagine the pain and anxiety you went through after seeing something so important to yourself just vanish. However, Theres no doubt in my mind that you'll make a full recovery and get back on your feet no matter where you end up. I wish you the best of luck and dont worry, those bastards will eventually get theirs; its just how life works. Take care.

Didn't take you long at all to get back up on the horse

Great idea to flower a lil earlier, you'll save time and lose minimal yield.

The plants are looking good and healthy :canabis:

Great to have ya back with us....count me in for the show :lurk:

great thread man. much respect. i just read through the entire thing... what a bummer to have to close down and start over. but you know, that's what growing is all about... the experience. usually its a grand ol' time, sometimes it's sad ~ im definately learning this from everyone here and as well as my own experiences. rule #1 for me is have fun... soon as it's not fun anymore then im done. one thing i noticed throughout your thread is that you feel the same way about it. i noticed how your fail hit you pretty hard, but after a bit of a break and dusting off of your pants you jumped right back into it with the same enthusiasm and happy-go-lucky spirit that makes it worth it. AND with the experience of that fail under your belt, you will have an explosion of success (like your buds after you change out your res)

i need to post tonight or tomorrow on my grow. i keep changing and building more into my growsroom as i go, some things have changed from when i originally started out and ive been keeping a good paper diary of my progress, successes, and set-backs.

anway, to keep this short. great to read your thread, glad i caught it at the beginning of your re-try... ill be lurking your show!

Pontiac - Looks badass man your setup is what I aspire for mine to be built up to. It looks like you don't have an external rez though, so I'm curious, do you have both buckets on the same pump? I'll be running 4 6quart buckets under a 150W HPS and was going to try to use just one pump.

PS~ sorry I couldn't just PM you this apparently these days you need 50 posts, so I'm workin on it ;)

Just came back from a nice vacation!

Just came back from a nice vacation!

Hey everyone I just got back from a nice little vacation. I feel stress free and can now concentrate on my babies. I left the cabinet in someone else's care and it looks like that person did a pretty good job. I'll post an update right after this response.

TML- Thanks for the nice comments and thanks for stopping by! Theyre in flowering right now.

SG- Good luck with everything bro!

rkrone- Thanks man.

kovenant- Dude, you read me like a book! Everything you said was 100% true. For me, weed isnt just a hobby, a pass time, or a medicine; its a complete lifestyle. I'm willing to keep up this life style for as long as it suites me, regardless of failure. So the day i get board of weed is the day i quit growing, but i doubt that day is arriving anytime soon. :D Thanks for stopping by! btw, good luck with you grow, i'll keep my eye on it.

KUSHEATER1- No doubt man! Keep it green yourself.

bud_me- Its been a while since you posted that response; i hope youre still watching. I use a single 4500 CC/Min Variable Dual Output Airpump to aerate both tubs (a total of about 10 gallons). Seems to work very well; the roots look white and healthy, showing no signs of O2 deficiency. I think the pump that i'm using (or similar) should work for your setup (6 gal) as well, but it wont hurt to get something a little bigger. Dont forget to get an airline splitter if you want to use one pump.

Black Ra1n- Thanks for the comment

ryangodammit- Thanks for the bump! I gave you some +rep.

As you already know from my previous response, i went on a little vacation and left the plants in someone else's care. That person did a great job of taking care of the plants, but somehow lost the datebook, so i really dont know what day it is. However, I do know the date of the beginning of the flowering cycle, thus i know how many days are remaining till harvest.

Anyway, lets just say the day before flowering began equals "X" from now on. (I'll fill in X with a real value once i find my datebook)

The plants are looking great, they all look healthy and strong. Surprisingly, there are no signs of heat damage even though temperatures in the cab are floating in the mid 90s. Anyway,The chrystals are pretty damn big as expected, and the ice are pretty damn runty which was expected as well.

I'm training the plants by using twowordz's "reverse scrog lst" technique. This technique is absolutely perfect for small cabs such as my own. It has properties similar to scrog, but doesnt sacrifice any height. Find out more here: http://www.icmag.com/ic/showthread.php?t=57887

I also updated my cab a little right after i came back. First thing i did was add more Velcro to the back side of the cab to reduce light leaks. Next, i added a thermostat (suncourt ductstat, to be exact), in order to prevent over heating and frying my plants. The thermostat will turn off the hps if temps ever go past 100 F or so.

Anyway here's an updated pic:

Welcome back Pontiac

Give your buddy a pat on the back...he did a bang up job with your plants whilst you were gone
You really turned this grow around fast :canabis:

Love the thermostat idea in a little cab like that. You're like the Macgyver of ICmag :biglaugh: seriously though...that's a genious way to protect your plants.

Keep up the great work eh :lurk:

Mindless- They definitely do help in flowering, but i also use them for stand-alone veg lighting; i save more space that way. Well anyway thanks for stopping! Nice grow btw.

TML- Hey tml howzit going? I'm afraid of viewing your thread cus the budporn alone might give me a heart attack! :yoinks:
I hear ya man, my friend definitely did a stellar job on the plants. I expected to be disappointed when i came back, but was actually delighted to see what great job he did.
The thermostat actually switched off a few times cus of the heat a while back, so that alone justifies for its $25 price tag. :2cents: Now temps are a lil bit more stable, so it wont be switching off for a while, but it still gives me some piece of mind (maybe the dayton blower will fail; you never know). Well anyway, thanks for stopping by!

Lol i may not be the real macgyver, but i sure as hell love his multitool! Infact i used it to build this cabby! :D
