My House Just Got Robbed. I need Advice Please!!!

deadly force is to be used only under threat of injury or death to you or your loved ones
according to the law

if you don't have a weapon, and won't use one in self defense, you are sacrificing yourself and family to the people with no respect for the law

killing a burglar will not land you in jail for a long period of time, once the circumstances are brought to light, you will be released, and should have no worry about doing what you need to do to protect your family

or move away from where you live and leave your mother to deal with future break-ins by herself

thank goodness your daughter is OK...

thank goodness your daughter is OK...

and your Mom's got you covered with housing for the time being.

who keeps nearly 4K cash in an unlocked house? and that much cash AND a credit card balance. Sorry to be critical but I just don't get it.

Camera, laptop and cash are easy to hide, where were these items hidden?

No need to get a big dog. My two dogs are both small but are great for warning barks. I don't want them attacking anyone, just warning me that something is up.

Stealing is wrong but in today's world every time a person leaves the house things need to be secured.

Again thank goodness you and your family are safe. Things can be replaced, people can't!

Yes, you have it completely correct Greyskull....this is the type of shit that made me stop visiting ICmag

alls i know is talking about someones daughter needing to get on the pole is pretty, well... I don't know if shit sinks that low. thats about as bad and STUPID as that rasict dumbass tenneseetoker dropping the big N like we're all inbred like him... it exhibits such low class.

SHOW SOME COUTHE, PEOPLE.

and that nugget, if you cannot rely on growing pot for a living (insert whatever reason here____), you shouldn't try to grow pot for a living.

if you arent growing legally, never have photos, microfilm, computer images, buds, leaves, trim, money, scales or anything having to do with mj etc on your property. u could have rented a storage area, 5 by 5 by ten to house all these valuables and incrimnating( to law or thieves which are the same thing). i pay 50 bucks a month and keep my stuff in a storage locker thats impossible to break into. and i grow 100% legal meds. all i can say is rent a storage locker, dont take it personall, take responsability for your acts, chaulk it up to experience and apply it to the rest of your ventures in life;-)

cannabudz - get a nice big safe next time if you don't plan on keeping your money in a bank. you can get a ncie big heavy duty safe for under $500. If you get a floor safe and install it properly you'll also benefit from the contents being free from potential fire damage, too. used safes are a good option if funds are tight.....

good luck

Woah missblunted, I was gonna say it sounds like you've got some sense, but people kicking in your door with 9mm? I think you might be the last person this guy needs advice from. You've clearly made some uber duper dumb mistakes recently.

I'm not saying I'm perfect, but when shit like this happens, usually there is *something* you did to bring it upon yourself.

Whether that may be hating ladies at strip clubs, selling pounds out of the place you rest your head, or leaving your windows open and doors unlocked.

Cannabudz could have spared us the "im recovering from motocross, and I teach PE to everybody's kids" and stopped right at "I left my window open, it was a hot day."

All he had to do to avoid this was make a trip to home depot, spend 200 bucks on a portable AC and everything woulda been gravy. No one is breaking windows while someone is on the property. They save that shit til everybody has left.

You have nothing to contribute to this community...your attitude is shit and you want to add to a man's suffering. You should just pack it up and skip out on this one. You don't know what you're talking about....so we'll see ya around.

Something as simple as "My daddy has a PS3 in the little house he just built" could have got you robbed.

Oh....and if things like this ^^^ can get you robbed the first time (and yes that can) then maybe not everyone getting robbed deserves it. You're obviously one of the trouble makers that got banned and came back to troll ICmag, well done.

Woah, stop the train. Let me clear something up. I didn't just come out of nowhere and suggest he take his daughter to the strip club. I was referring to the comment he made that he was doing this and that to provide for his girl so she "would not have to dance with a pole."

I mean, COME ON. Not every poor father's girl decides she has to sell her body for a living.

Nor does the fact that he got robbed for some electronics and some cash designate that this is her impending future.

He recovered from a seriouos motocross injury, no? I'm sure he will bounce back from this loss.

I would have expected people to be getting all at the posts that this guy should try to stake out his property with a shotgun and go on undercover watch missions by driving to his friend's house while big dogs roamed the property looking for invaders. Seems fairly asinine (if that is how the word is spelled) to me.

If he doesn't want these rippers to come back then leave everything the way it was when they left and stay in the big house on the property. Don't even fix the broken window. I doubt they will come back to a spot that looks the same as when they left it.

Whatever, I'm sure I've said something for you haters to complain about in this post as well.

I'm so sorry you had to suffer this negative karma in real life which, by judging from your post, you never deserved.

My attitude is shit for making a joke?

I don't know what I'm talking about?

I got robbed when I was in college. I went to the casino with this sexy lil customer I had (was selling weed) and realized half way there I forgot my wallet. We went back to my place and I found my wallet... but the ATM/credit cards were missing. I had one fat nug in a nug box, that was missing. Luckily I had no cash at the time and my "product" was kept in the pockets of clothes hanging in my closet. As I left my apartment, I noticed the screen over the window right by the door flapping in the wind. My fault, I forgot to close the window before I left... I had been burning incense before she came over and wanted to air out the smoke. Got all excited I had a ride to gamble, and left. WHAM. Karma kicked in my front door. Could have been a bigger loss if I actually made it to the casino.

Long story short, nothing ever kicked off with the sexy lil customer and myself... and I caught the guy who robbed my pulling up in front of my house in the passenger side of his gangster homie's camaro. Clearly they were comming back for my computer and flat screen monitor and whatever else they found valuable.

What happened? I said what's up and he asked if he could get some bud. He looked nervous as fuck. I told him "nope, just got robbed" with a big smile and he feined surprise. Nothing else happened from then on... except everytime I seen him after that he would get all nervous like maybe I put 2 and 2 together.

FOUR!

^^^ One thing I forgot to say is that when someone comes in your house even when you aren't there...they're more than likely armed. I came home one night from work to find 2 kids around 16-17 years old trying to break in, after I got in my car and followed them to get the plate # to find out who they were....they fired off 2 rounds at me. I don't know any 16-17 year old black kids. Every thief takes a chance that you're coming home and they have to be able to get out. And these were just kids that time.

I find it humorous that people are more concerned to tell me how inconsiderate I am of this guys feelings... and how I have nothing to contribute to this website... when this guy has contributed what, exactly? Someone please enlighten me to the bounty of good advice senor cannabudz has managed to deliver to all of you.

I'm gonna go do some motocross with no helmet now. Wish me luck.

home owners or renters insurance is a must; if you're medical and keep receipts you can get money back for any lights or stuff they take; just no plants or finished product... my biggest fear is losing my genetics; would suck to have to start all over.. locally people don't know i grow so i don't have anyone to give moms to... i was robbed once; i moved... got a big dog; big big rott from the pound; sweetest dog i ever had.. strangers never wanted to know if she was nice they'd rather not take the chance; if you have some property fence of what's important and give the dogs run of it.. i'd get a couple; your own pack... if you are going to stay there you have to treat it like a fortress... sounds like it's too hard to walk away... just make it a hard target and not a soft one; motion detection lights strung together can scare the shit outa anyone; nothing like 10 flood lights flipping on at once 5 ft from the house

it sucks... i still don't keep guns at my place but if i did it would be a 16 gauge all the way; dove shot doesn't go through walls... i'd look into the hobby of speed skeet shooting.. some nice guns used for that "sport"

being victimized is one thing; being a victim is another... i'm sure you'll get back on your feet soon enough... keep ur head up man

People talk about guns and shit: clearly never having ever shot someone or have been around seriously violent people. I mean me too, I have never shot someone. I have been around some seriously violent people though, like straight up.

I have been around martial arts most of my life. I will share a few things I have learned in seeing many people's responses and reactions both to and commiting violence.

If you pull a gun on someone, you better better better have the conviction that you can and will with NO hesitation pull the trigger. If you don't, you may as well hand it to them. You have now placed someone in a life and death situation- they may return you the favor. If you can't pull that trigger- and they are a hardcore motherfucker, they will turn it on you cause they sense your weakness. Predator prey relationship. Prey does not suddenly turn into a predator, just cause it gets some teeth. Most of us have no business even trying to be violent people, cause it's not in our nature. If it is in your nature, then your probably already doing it. That's the way it works in my years of observation. You either have it or you don't- and yes anyone has the potential, but not everyone can take the actions. Most of us are conditioned from birth not to harm others, you kinda have to work up mentally to being able to do it effectively.

Can you really say to me that your ready to kill someone for your weed? Self defense maybe, but to protect your property? Can you look at a person, aim a gun at them, and take their life? I bet not one of you who is saying "get a gun" has ever done that. It takes some serious discipline, or stupidity to do it. Those are the only two kinds of killers out there: the idiots, and the cool calculating trained killer. I include military, cops, gun enthusiast, hunters, some martial artist, harden street criminal, those who have been to prison in this catagory- you get my point.
That said- what if you do pull the trigger? What then? You better bet you are in some serious shit. Your life might be over in so many ways. They guy robbing you might have you killed if he lives, the cops might be on their way- and are definately getting involved when he walks into a hospital with a gun shot wound (its the law), and now you have a bleeding screaming/dying person in your living room. Are you even prepared for what that is like? Where is your life headed now at this point? You have a crime scene and maybe a dead body in your living room- sure you didn't get robbed, but now what?

A member of our community was just robbed and murdered- this shit happens. Google up Elias Sorokin. I have seen too many tears in the last 2 weeks. I live in Santa Cruz, I know his best friend. It's real real real. And it was over weed. And guess what? The two guys who did it didn't even make it a week before being arrested and charged. It is so fucked up this is happening.

You shoot someone, your life is about to get really fucked up. And everything you value might be lost.

Yeah you might lose your shit, and they might kill you- but chances are you'll live, your life will move on, and sooner or later shit will work out for you. You shoot someone, kill them or not, and your simply moving from one bucket of hot water to an even hotter bucket.

I'm not ready to shoot someone or even have a gun at my grow although when I harvest its 5-6 lbs normally off 3 1K vertizontals.Thats enough for many people to end your life over,as ridiculous as that sounds..I couldnt kill someone over erb, unless they were about to kill me of course. After years of this shit its just too replacable and pretty damn easy to do.Rippers have always concerned me at least as much as leo being I have stayed really undercover in my years of doing this. But it only takes one guy to follow you home from the hydro store to know where to strike. Then timing is of utmost importance and these guys arent stupid, they usually know when its close to harvest time.I've been ultra careful in my decade of growing but I also know things can change in the blink of an eye.

This reminds me of my paranoia when visiting hydro shops. I usually only go in my local one if no one, or one or two people are in there. Even if I am talking strictly tomatos, my personal appearance, anyone with half a brain knows whats up. And its always super freaky when I'm in there for 10-20 min discussing should I buy a cheapo hood or buy an expensive hood which would be more versatile in the long run... and then a swarm of 5 or 6 people enter and are all paying very close attention to my discussion with the only shop attendant in the store. Maybe they want to ask him a. question, or maybe they want to know what I'm asking so many questions about.

Hydro stores are spooky
