id argue that bruce could land a harder hitting punch than the majority of the heavyweight fighters...he had real STRENGTH it wasnt about how big his muscles were..how many ufc fighters can do 50 2 finger push ups?

Bruce will beat anyones ass!!! Period! even Fedor!!!! His fighting style is incorporated into his reflexes. Someone punches, he moves naturally and hits back at the same time. Fedor is too slow, will not be able to catch him. I see a head kick knocking Fedor to his ass!!! Weight class should not matter. When one is in a fighting situation, he has to fight, no matter how big or small his opponent is. MMA(UFC is just entertainment that prevents people from getting hurt in fighting. See how fast they stop a fight. enuff said.

...He's get tapped out by GSP:yoinks:..knocked out by Chuck Liddell and ground and pounded by Uriah Faber haha...then he'd train with the Wolfpack and Bisping for a year and come back and dominate the middleweight division..that is after puttin on some muscle pounds haha

I agree with the apples to oranges analogy. Bruce Li was an incredible martial artist, there is no question. The difference between Mr. Li and an UFC fighter is this: UFC fighters are trained to fight offensively, whereas almost all true martial arts forms are for SELF DEFENSE. Likely Li would "win" by the simple fact that he would dodge and counter everything a UFC fighter would throw at him.

If he was forced to "play by the rules" of UFC though, I guess we'll never know.

Bruce Lee would have done just fine in the octagon. That is until he got matched up with Chuck Norris then he would have known what a beat down was all about. He would have gone into submission as soon as Chuck entered the ring! hehe...lmao I miss seeing all those Chuck Norris comments, haha Anyone else remember them.

To all the peole who are saying "UFC" fighting is sloppy you need to be schooled. First off UFC is a company not an art form. MMA is the art and it's the most evolved useable fighting style on earth. Anyone who says it is sloppy has obviously never been in a cage before. There is a lot that looks sloppy but rolling is a chess match if you happen to know what you're watching. I'd put up a 15 year old thai boy against Bruce anyday. Bruce would be owned.

Here's a souvenier from my last fight.

P.S to whoever was bragging about knowing Wing Chun or whatever, great... you learned how to dance.

UFC is not even a real martial arts tournament anyway, it is merely a show for tv and to sell ads.

anyone ever been present in a martial arts world championship in thailand for example? there you see shit you would not believe... but I guess UFC is more flashier, it is on tv afterall, uh?

in a real martial arts tournament, no cameras of any type allowed, all competitors must sign a release form making the tournament free in case you die in the ring etc...

UFC serious? come on... Pride is better even though it is also a tv show...

Let's just know Lee would kill any lightweight so let move to. The top ten welterweight ultimate fighters my ass.. Like I said glorified wrestling.

1. Georges St. Pierre Style: Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, Wrestling, Kick Boxing, Kyokushin
2. Matt Hughes Style: Wrestling
3. BJ Penn Style: Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu
4. Jon Fitch Style: Wrestling, Kickboxing, Brazilian jiu-jitsu
5. Jake Shields Style: Wrestling, Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu
6. Thiago Alves Style: Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu
7. Josh Kosheck Style: Wrestling
8. Diego Sanchez Style: Gaidojutsu
9. Karo Parisyan Style: Judo
10. Matt Serra Style: Gracie Jiu-Jitsu

( Who could even touch Master Lee in this group.....HA)

I know lets move Lee up to Middleweight to fight the grand masters like these guys.
Robbie Lawler..LOL
Rich Franklin..LOL

Then he can tangle with the real tough guys the light heavyweights.lol

Keith Jardine..LOL
Forset Griffin..LOL I'm sure he would fear the octagon with these two contenders.

Let's see who Bruce would have tune up fights with before he won the heavyweight division..

Randy Couture...LOL
Tim Sylvia.. LOL

Lee would be shaking in his bumble bee track suit..

It's crazy how delusional people get when you mention kung fu or bruce lee. Ok, bruce vs muhammed ali. Sorry but one punch and he would faceplant.

didn't lee himself stop doing alot of traditional martial arts and took up boxing and wrestling towards the end? im sure I read that somewhere.

Respect to bruce though he was a pioneer of mma.

excuse me bro, but that is like the pot calling the kettle black...

Sure, Bruce Lee is not invincible, but UFC is not the best representation of serious martial arts / fighting that there is.

Muhammed Ali is another story too, the thread is about UFC fighters vs. Bruce Lee.

UFC = the new WWF.

MMA is not a style of fighting. It is MIXED MARTIAL ARTS. Which is a MIX of styles. Much like it's predecessor Jeet Kune Do, which was developed by Bruce Lee.

Wing Chun is the ultimate fighting style, check the Fight Quest where they cover Wing Chun. The MMA guys who do the show, weren't even allowed to fight the Wing Chun masters at the end of the show.

UFC/MMA used to be interesting. It is now a fad, and is in a downward spiral towards selling out. Mark my words...The next WWF.

True martial artists, wouldn't be a part of the dog and pony show, UFC has become.

Exactly, that's why when people say "the UFC is the best representation of fighters all around the world", they don't realize that the true masters won't even attach their name to that corny ass shit.

In the book that Bruce Lee wrote 'The Tao of Jeet Kune Do' he states "most Americans schooled in Boxing and Wrestling could beat any Traditional Martial Artist practicing at the time." Which is what he came to think through experience.

Here's another quote: "A man with one year training in boxing and wrestling can beat any martial artist with 15 years of experience" -Bruce Lee

So do you think Lee is wrong?

Im not saying he would'nt be great if he was around, he has all the atributes and talent to make it big, but don't be so quick to dismiss western fighting techniques. Also keep in mind he was never a competitive professional fighter and had little to no grappling ability.

I guess the original question is impossible anyway since bruce was only 135 and would of had to put on alot of weight to make even lightweight.

Very similar looking stances. Wing Chun is a early form of westernized boxing.
