Just wanted to hear some expert commentary on this subject. Personally potentcy is needed but not the most important thing, especially in an extract. I 've only had traditional dry sieve ( by that i mean from a traditional hashish producing region ) once, although it was an extended testing. Ever since i have been on a hunt for that complex "hashy" taste, its making my mouth water... Sadly, the bubbke i have experienced hasn't been up to snuff in the taste category. :bashhead:

SO, can u get the taste of dry sieve with the water/bubble method?? or is the water leeching out all the tasty bits??

Debate please. :muahaha:

I find using buds the bubble has a mighty fine taste, dryed correctly hits the spot for me all the time.
When usuing trim its obvisously less tastey. My 2 cents.
I also mix a lil dry sift in for taste.
Ive also found bubble to be as potant and sometimes more potant than imported hash, and some as remarkable in taste also.

don't forget to take the poll. lol

and i like adding some dry sieve to my bubble and qwiso. makes them both easier to work with.

Well i have had some incredible tasting dry sift as well as bubble. I know in the early years back in 99 and 00, i was very lucky to have the strain RENE. As the hash from it, water or dry sift, just tastes incredible, the terepenoids are not washed out from this strain> Some strains have water soluble terpenoids that are leached out into the water when washed. But many have alcohol soluble terpenoids that remain in the hash even after water washing.
I have had incredible tasting bubble, so i can't really say either way, it would be a tie for me.

Drysift/water hash.

However with that said, i think if more people could clean their dry sift up to the level of bubble, it would surely rise above most people's water hash> However with that said, 99% of people can't get their dry sift to that puriety and for me, the potency thats lost just isnt worth that little extra taste ( especialy when i can recapture it by adding dry sift to my bubble )

peace

 Bubbleman ,, it's all about mixing it up :canabis:

A mix of kif and scissor-hash (and sepals) produces the most flavoursome homemade hashish / scuff IMO / IME...

scissor hasj :

lizard hash (sepal, scissor, kif mix) :

The lizard came out like homemade charas ,,, keeping the taste (oils) that bubble sometimes washes away... :canabis:

- - -

Slightly of topic,,, I n I been experimenting lately,,, with method and mixing/resting times. By mixing bubble by hand without ice,, (not ice and machine) ,, we got some nice hash from some bags of Cheese and Strawberry Diesel trim :canabis:

Cheese bubble:

This bubble managed to retain some of its oils after water extraction and made a hash much like high grade Afghan (red seal) from back in the day,, sticky with a heavy scent,, the taste improved after working :D

Strawberry Diesel and HDF bubble (mix lot, 2 grades) :

This hash had another micron grade bag added (hence the marbling)

Strawberry Diesel (2 runs)

The hash on the left (in both pics) came from the 2nd run over the same bags... the wet trim we'd have normally thrown away was reaping the best hashish on the day.

This hashish lost lots of oils/flavour/taste in the process

In conclusion,, tasty bubblehash depends on the quality and variety of the starting ingredients IMO,, same as tasty kif does,, and sometimes working it improves the overall depth :canabis:

Peace all :joint:

edit: the underlines are weren't meant to be there,, but it'll take me all day to rearrange the url code.. lol :biglaugh:

No they don't

Terpenoids are lipophilic hydrophobes, fat soluble water repelling molecules...they are not water soluble in any way.

thanks for chiming in Bubbleman....

Doc Leaf i can't lie, i stole the second picture from the bottom. That little hash marble is amazing to see one my screen saver.

Full Melt Bob...

That was my understanding as well. lol the fat soluble part.

I think the trick with bubble is in the dry. Dry it flat and thin on a screen. When it feels dry take each "cookie" and put in a small paper bag, paper helps suck the remaining moisture out when you seal it up (I'd put them in a turkey bag). I'd seal it up, next day when I take them out of the turkey bag the paper would feel moist, I'd take it out of the bag and set it on a plate outside of the paper bag, let it dry more and then place back into the paper bag and seal it up ... basically repeat this until the paper bag is no longer feeling moist after it's unsealed.

I think the hash is best the less it's worked, I prefer it when it has a nice blonde color.

DocLeaf thanks for the extra pics. :D

Pimpjuice i agree about the drying being very important. in my experience most folks don't dry it enough.

PEACE

p.s. guess who has a set of these on the way....??

I can't friggin wait, i'm over ridden with hash making maddness.

Either way, from experience is easy to notice that much aroma and flavor is lost to the water, but some strains loose a lot while others don't loose that mutch. I don't know why but it does happen.

Anyway, if I'm working with a strain that looses a lot to the water I can do a very quick first run, 5 minutes wooden spoon mix, 5 minutes settle and I pull the bags. This way I get a first run that is extremely aromatic (but a low yield of course). Then I do a long 2nd (and sometimes a 3rd too) to get all the resin that is left in the trim.

ive got the 150 micron copper sieve and theyre extremely hard work ,the full set would require massive amounts of work ,,,

send them back and get a 150 micron scuffbox tumble till done and then get 1 of bubblemans hash boxes to further refine the trichomes,,cleanest dry sieve method :headbange

what u mean hard to work??
explain please.... because i don't even work my current stashbox and get a fair a mount of kief, so i can't imagine why they would be hard. but please do explain.

PEACE!

just an afterthougt but do u think it has anything to do with the copper mesh. polarity seems like it coul dbe an issue. I went all stainless steel. well SS mesh and bronze side walls.

the trichs fall off into your stashbox because you break the buds up over it i presume or a small percent fall off over time,

the sieves are different they require filling with trim or buds and agitating like u would in bubblebags to dislodge the trichs
,depending on the amount of sieves u buy depends on the effort required,if u buy the 6 pots u will have to shake 6 times to get the 6 grades ,,like i say lots of work

nah they stack on top of one another and i can shake the whole thing.

thinking about actually wrapping them with those massage pads u can buy to lay in a chair.

i dunno. we'll see once they get here.

i hope ur wrong. lol

seriously!!!!!!!!! lol theres no way on this earth your going to lift and shake the whole system ,its probably 3ft tall ,just shaking the 150 micron is gonna make u wish you'd never bought them ,,theyre a nice idea but not very practical to use,

like i said before go buy a mechanical tumbler ,if u really want the sieves then just get the 90,73 and 45 and let the tumbler do most the hard work ,,

hey bro i appreciate ur input, but please stop the :badday: rain on my parade. :bashhead: :bashhead: Please.

I'm sorry u can't lift urs or u couldn't think of another way to agitate them but please stop the hate. can u not see i'm excited about this?? Ur acting like ur the end all be all on these things and not evening leaving open the option that they might work. I'm not crying but what is the point of posting to get negativity. :violin:

I'm sure what u meant to say was, "good luck and i hope ur exp is better than mine," right?? :dueling:

jeez...

ok bro not meaning to piss u off but u asked for experiences and i gave u one ,,,
in all honesty what i really meant to say was theyre a total waste of time and totally crap ,so crap that mila doesnt stock them anymore ,,

did i mention to get a tumbler :spank:

thanks for taking time out of ur day to be spitefull. it makes the world a better place, i bet ur one of the people who only does it for money.

and when did i ever say i was pissed?? i see it no where, i simply asked u to not be so negative, to which u responded with more negativity.

PEACE.
