I need this question answered as im not understanding why we lower the PH to 5.8 with COCO.
If anyone knows why this is done let me know.
If anyone knows why this is done let me know.
for more calcium availability......
i got my best yields when i let my ph drift up from 5.8 to 6.5, over a weeks time......
?? more ca I USE CAL/MG all the time in soil why not iuse it in coco??

ph is a way of measuring you soils acid and alkaline levels
some soils will interact better with a lower of higher ph...
ie the soil has a ph of its own, so you want to complement the water and the soil together...
basically that's a very simple explination
roots bind elements in the water to them and up the plant.
if the roots cannot bind the elements you are outta luck...
so ph levels will effect the roots ability take up nuts due to the binding ability which pH effects
yes,I will ask again. Since the medium is made from coco it reqiures a lower PH range to work properly. Is that a corect statement????
this is a valid chart, the word hydroponic should be removed, it is misleading, but since most growers used to be hydro that's why it appears. nothing to do with a Hydro specific chart
