Where to smoke in Amsterdam?

I got some nice Kali Mist from the Grasshopper. Although overpriced.
Last time I was in Amsterdam Lavender was the best value strain and probably my favourite smoke.

for a sit-down i prefer rookies, the tenders are cool and the place is spacious, also the chairs are ok to sit in. its close to leidseplein and the casino.
for weed you have to run around town

(edit - afaik, they bought the second place close "bij" (literally 45 seconds walk from boerenjongens) because they couldnt keep up with demand and needed more produce on site...there's often queues into the street at both places, even though they're off the beaten track)

That sounds like a nice idea mate, although we'll have to just grab stocks there and smoke somewhere else as they're both "smoke free" coffeeshops (strange, I know). Luckily, "top hang out gaff" the Kashmir Lounge is close by and would a great place to chill and have a chat

I've been going to Holland since 2001. Not every years, as I would like, but 6 times total. I suggest the Amsterdam Coffeshop Directory website. They have up to date listing for all shops in the Netherlands and even a forum. In A'dam Centrum, a high percentage of shops are tourist traps. Their clientel are American and British cannatourists that are only there for a couple days and are shop hopping like drunken sailors on shore leave. They don't care about repeat customers cuz those people aren't coming back anyway...and you don't see locals there. There are some great shops in the Centrum like Homegrown Fantasy, the 3 Kadinsky shops, Resin, Rokerij, Old Amsterdam..actually more than I can think of off hand. But, there are many more that you shouldn't bother with. Paradise on Damstraat is universally accknowleded as A'dams worst shop. The Bluebird is a really cool shop with a large selection, but everything I've bought there has been Hydro in need of a flush..sets my lungs on fire. I've been staying in Haarlem the past 2 trips. It has more of a small town feel, is more like the rest of Holland and the prices are about 40% less than Adam. I used to like Willie Wortels Sativa a lot, but since the bust, they've eliminated the food/beveridge area and installed vending machines instead. No more Julia, Nina or Anna Marie seving up Espesso and such. Nols other 2 shops are still good, though. The Thee Huis is always worth a visit..primo menu, Regine has a great house special, Birdie is worth stopping by. In fact, I like all the Haarlem shops.
If you get out of the Centrum, in southern A"dam you have Mellow Yellow with great SSH and 5g of Blueberry for 25 Euro. Little is a short distance down the street with good wares. Near Sarphati Park you have Katsu...A GReAT shop with Great stuff like Black Widow,Cheese, imported Thai (like the old days) Katsu and Mellow Yellow are my personal faves in A'dam. I could type all day about different shops , but you can find it all at ACD website.

How to get there:

Either take the #1 tram to the end of Overtoom and transfer to the #17, or just catch the #17 at the Dam and ride it along Marnixstraat then it crosses over to near where the shop is...still have about 8 blocks to walk.

I "think" they were actually the first CS to go "rookvrij".. I remember seeing them on the news at the time saying how business hadnt been affected...I remember thinking "well surely the business of selling coffee was affected if nothing else"... but I guess coffee is more of a side line

no worries JamieShoes!!! Ill be back sometime the beginning of next year...! I bought some SSSDH seeds from OJD, they had arrived when i got back from Amsterdam... I was over d moon! im also going to be growing, Chocolope, Lemonskunk and Buddhas Blue Cheese! so i need a few months with my head down.... when the grow is over 'I'll be back'.
