Hello,
Would any of you guys know where to get replacement parts for the 300w grow panel type lights that are sold on auction sites? More specifically the black power converter boxes that power the led rows. Thanks.
you should find them on auction sites, too. but if they are not marked with the model and/or voltage and amperage specs on them, you need to measure them with a multimeter to know what replacement led driver you need. that's how they are called, led drivers.
Take a picture of "the black power converter boxes that power the led rows" (aka LED driver) and post it here for more feedback.
You can also use Google Image Search to identify sites that have similar pictures , which might be a simple way to find what are you looking for.
But as Explo said, a little investigation first will put you on the right way. How many LEDs are connected in series to one driver ? What is the description of the LED panel and what kind of LEDs it contains ? 1W or 3W chips ?
For 1W chips you should search for 350mA drivers, and for 3W chips you look up for 700mA driver.
The light looks like this one. I can take a pic of the internals later today. I'm pretty sure they are 1w leds. The panel just says 300w led grow light. No markings on the black driver boxes. I'll count the number of leds on the row later today also. Thanks for the help guys. Appreciate it.
the best option would be to try to message either a chinese seller/producer of led panels like the one you have, or a seller that has a big variety of drivers and try to ask them to source you a more suitable one. If you can't find a better one, I'm over 90% sure this would do the job and the leds will have about the same luminosity as before. Those cheap drivers they put in the panels are never as big as they say on the package, but those metal ones like I linked you are better quality and more precise.
