lets hear some stories of when we were newbies, mistakes we made while we were new to the art, (big or small) the worst conditions we have ever put our beloved plant through, not knowing what the hell we were doing.i'll go first, it would be this last summer, it was hotter than normal, and i was trying to grow a banana kush tree for the first time, ( not first grow, just first time with B.K. ) i got it from a friend and had it vegging at another friends place, ( who was not taking very good care of it, e.g. ph to low/high, and no trimming,) the girl still grew, but was pale, he complained that my tree was blocking all the light from his, so i went and picked it up and took her to my place,(which i was not set up for yet,) threw up a quick room with some staples, and panda plastic in my shed out back, hung my 400hps, and whallah! a room., well that only lasted till i saw that it was getting up to 90 degrees in the day, and 50 in the morning, so i threw up a layer of construction plastic over the panda, thinking it would hold the heat in, uuuhh, ya.....it didnt, (just for the record i was not trying to keep the 90 degree heat in, i was trying to insulate so the temp would not flux so much, )so then i proceeded to pillage all the blankets out of our motorhome and staple them up too., thinking thats gotta hold the heat in, well......it didnt, plants kept getting more and more pale, i was really starting to worry., then a guy told me i should put some co2 in there with it, "it will help em in extreme conditions", well i did, and it did help,..a little, but i was getting desperate, my poor plant was so yellow, and i was going by the water, water , feed , principal., i hooked up a fan, to pull the air out, but not one to pull air in, i started feeding every other water, and it took about 5-6 days, but it started looking better, she was turning green again, and perking up, the temps outside calmed down, and the plant was looking alot more healthy, so i thought i would be safe to leave for a couple days to go camp by the beach with my family, so i wanted to make sure everything would be ok, i filled the rez up all the way to the line, rotated her to sun the other side, checked to make sure all was good, and took off to the beach., when i got back, this is what i found., i bought a portable A/c unit to help, the hose in the back of the a/c unhooked somehow, and so it was blowing hot air into the room from the back, i found out whille i was gone, it was 105 degrees, outside, and in my room, i also found that when i rotated the bucket, i unknowingly set the edge of the bucket on the air hose, which shut the drip system down, and it didnt matter anyway because the rez was empty, 3 days, all the work and time i put into bringing it back from the dead, and i ended up killing her in the end,it was so dry, i could have plucked and smoked right off the tree., this summer will be different, (live and learn)
