What is your favorite ACE strain?

I would really like to hear what your favorites are and what makes it great in your opinion. High, taste, smell, appearance?

Some of the ACE sativas look so beautiful to look at I would grow them for a house plant just to look at

Thanks zukinjo I have been looking at getting some vb x thai for exactly that reason, seems like the vb has good taste and smell.

Are there anymore ACE strain growers to give their testimony to the greatness of dubi's strains?

Hi pebble,

Did the double thai have any trance like quality from the thai koh chang side? Must admit to looking at this one for awhile, but being scared by its long flowering time. I bought some tropical mix to grow outside (apparently mostly green/purple haze x meao thai).

Just don't know that I could finish the double thai off outside at lat 37 south even in my green house. I saw your grow threads - lovely plants what latitude are you at?

My favourites are VBT and Pakistan Chitral Kush.
Nothing to do best potency or best crop. ACE has better croppers.
Just like the plants, appearance and how they carry themselves.
Irrational...
But mind you, all ACE gear is good, not a plant that grows poor, you can always expect a variety that has good growing manners and good outcome. Guaranteed

Which ever one I happen to be smoking at the time. Congo, Banghi Haze, NepJam, Panama, Guawi, OE - each brilliant in their own fashion.

My experience with Ace genetics has been limited to Nep Jam and Orient Express so my opinion is based on a pretty small sample but I really love Nepelese Jam. It's become my go to medical strain for my secondary health issues such as GI problems and a degenerative back injury. It's unusual to find a sativa that works for pain.

My favorite lady from last grow produced absolutely beautiful blue tinted frosty buds that were both potent and had a nice sunny, warm effect. She yielded very well and was second only to my Orient Express in that regard and was nigh impossible for me to kill despite some soil and ph problems which hurt my other strains considerably. Very vigorous plant. It ended up about 6ft tall with one month veg and no training. The only thing I don't like about my Nep Jam is she has a somewhat rancid smell. It's kinda like rancid sunflower seeds with fuel and honey overtones on top. My other one was sweeter with a nice honey aromas. The effects are uplifting and dreamy, definitely sativa leaning but there is a good bit of impairment that comes along with it. I definitely wouldn't call it a clear electric strain. It actually reminds me a bit of Apollo. It works surprisingly well for pain and GI problems considering it is a Sativa.

I also grew out Orient Express which was a monster in the yields department. It made even the Nep Jam look like a lightweight which it definitely was not. It has nice fruity and almost berry like aromas and some earthy undertones. Forgiving and vigorous but doesn't like a lot of nitrogen as a seedling and then becomes a serious feeder in flower. I found OE to have a nice clean, sociable sativa up effect with a kind of mellowness flowing beneath it. A bit sleepy and foggy after it wears off. Moderately strong. For what is a essentially a 50/50 indica/sativa cross it is very sativa leaning in effect and in my case growing habbits and structure. The lady I had, ended up with a cola over two feet long and several inches thick. It was like a bud baseball bat.

Lovely replies from everyone thanks for your efforts :tiphat:

I love reading though all the ace forum threads and watch my list of strains to get blow out beyond reason.

The Hatter, I am interested in nepjam, but I wondered about the nepalese side being a sativa (or sativa in its effect) and your post answered that for me. Thanks.

I find Nep Jam to creep a bit and it has legs, more so than OE. Re-reading my initial description of Nep Jam I find it gives an impression that it is more indica like than it is. It's about as sativa leaning as something like apollo or super silver haze for me. Which is to say by most people standards, very sativa leaning.

Nep Jam is definitely upbeat and daytime smoke. I don't think it will do much to help a person sleep, at least the pheno I had doesn't. Of the two, I would say Orient Express is most sativa like in the initial effect, and most indica like in the come down.

Nep Jam kind of has the same upbeat sativa daydream kind of effect the whole way through where as Orient Express starts out pretty electric and clear but the mellow flowing undertones eventually take over, at least for me, about an hour or two in. I tend to fall asleep after I start coming down on the OE which isn't true of the Nep Jam. The Nep Jam is more potently impairing. I think it would be difficult to function in public if you over medicated with it where as the Orient Express is very functional up until nap time comes.

 You can partially thank my rambling responses on the Nep Jam. It tends to make me want to talk and talk. I had what appears to be a very Jamaican leaning pheno.

What you said sounded good to me as I like a relaxed sativa buzz as well as the more clear electric types too, its good to have wide range of effects in your selected plants. You made it sound good to me.
Thanks for that in-depth description. The nepjam appeals to me for its spiritual connection on the nepalese side. :ying:

window, I am a bit afraid of the golden tiger, but I have bought some a while ago anyway, see how it goes :peek:

My Orient Express actually went the longest of any of my strains this last time. Nep Jam was the fastest at 8-9 weeks. The Destroyer Fem would have gone longest but I ended up with single male flowers dotting a couple of lower branches and decided she had to go at week 6. She really hated the soil I had in her in and was next to a tiny light leak so it was likely my own fault she hermied slightly.

As for the OE I had a very VB sativa structured plant. Fruity, tart smells. Huge long thin leaves and Christmas tree structure. She flowered a little over 10 weeks. She probably could have gone another week or two but I like clear sativa effects so I harvest at the very first signs of amber.

I think judging from the other OE grows I have seen that mine was very VB leaning and was one of the longer flowering phenos so its likely that the more yunnan leaning phenos will finish a week or two sooner than mine did.

Hey pebble thanks for the reply that make me feel more comfortable trying out the ace tropical mix outside. If it gets too rainy I will put them in the greenhouse, but would prefer direct sun if I can. :thank you: Just ordered some panama
