Last years harvest was a great one but the first part of our harvest dried too quickly and lost its smell. The weather was dry and around 75*. The weed from this part of the harvest dried too quickly and lost mush of the dank smell it had that i associate with well, DANK. They dried in around 5 days.
The second part of the harvest (around 3 weeks later) was taken in much cooler, wetter weather. The buds dried much more slowly-around 11-12 days before jarring and burping. The buds felt better and more importantly smelled way better.
My questions are:
I want to draw the curing/drying process out to around two weeks before jarring, maybe a little more. Where do you like to keep the humidity in the drying room to accomplish a nice slow cure?
I will buy a humidifier to keep the room at the perfect humidity- it will be checked daily to make sure its problem free. By the way we cure on a combo of racks, trimmed at harvest.
How long do you like to have your weed cure for the maximum stank? I have read up to two months, but this seems ridiculously long to me.
Thanks and happy harvests!.
