I am no one special nor am I a really smart guy so take from this what you will.
I understand that plant leaves do not shade out as much usable light that the plant uses. The plants sees light differently than we do, so where we see shade still much of the good light that the plant needs gets through.
So is my understanding on that.
I also understand that if you over defoliate too quickly you risk a higher leaf to calayx ratios in the bud. So is my basic understanding on that.
Their are ways to mitigate and some strains and techniques work better than others. I have seen good results with both.
