You ask about the IC-Mag 420 - Growers/Breeders Cup now Lougrew?!!

Or is it just visiting the city of Amsterdam you wonder about?

my trip to the Dam was soso. I went there to experience freedom, but soon learned freedom costs a pretty penny.

It's awesome just being able to sitdown and smoke in a public place, making friends with strangers and such. But it also left me thinking, why the hell am I paying so damn much to smoke.

totally positive,i've never had a bad trip to amsterdam:D..i love the dutch,i love amsterdam, and i love holland(rotterdam rocks/harleem is super cool and da haag is beutiful)...
saying that treat a new country like a new lover....with respect, always ask first, think before you speak and never stick your finger where you wouldnt put your mouth:D
i've never been to america(remember that!:D) but in europe there is nowhere like holland,as long as your not stupid the freedom there is unrivalled...
the weed is great(if you grow the same strain yours WILL be better:D they are commercial remember!)..but there is nowhere else that you can be 90% sure that what you think you are buying is what your actually buying:D
bad things....its a city centre just like paris/london/newyork/hongkong/sydney/berlin and barcelona IT IS EXPENSIVE!!!!all the cheap hotels are crap(the dutch need to invest in doubleglazing:D)i'd suggest staying in harleem(the trains and trams are ace!allways on time and cheap!!)
nothing but postive things to say..but if your coming from across the pond seriously think about shareing an apartment for a month(but not in amsterdam)..its cheap, theres lots of public transport in europe, and if you book early you'll get a months rent for a weeks hotel rate!...and i havent mentioned the ajax football stadium/gallerys/annfrankmuseum(bit of a rip off really)/markets/canals/clubs/bars/antique market/redlightdistrict...
one thing i missed i'm 5'11 allways thought i was average height... not in amsterdam they're all really tall!!the dutch girls are really big/and super fit!!!:D
totally the last edit if your offered ecstasy/coke/viagra by the street folk just ignore them the dutch police(ARE WATCHING YOU)they will lock YOU and them up if you buy hard drugs off the DUTCH PEOPLES STREETS,a lot of people live around the red light district(amsterdam central) and no one likes dealers working under where there kids sleep...dont forget little bit off respect:D

lougrew....I have been in holland last year in the summer....and this year in may...the cities where I spent time are Enschede....first shop visit was to Cafe Mix coffeeshop...came in the shop...the dealer was sitting behind a table with a *huge* leather briefcase filled with a whole bunch of plastic bags filled with cannabis and hash

I bought 5 grams....and smoked my first White Widow joint right in the coffee shop...that pot blew my head off.....I felt like I was in a dream....it was unreal

I had a break from smoking cannabis for ten years before toking on this strong ass weed...but still...I smoked 14 years straight before I quit for the ten years.

At that time I didn't know much about different strains...and for me to smoke a whole joint was normal...but when I was 3/4 done with my first joint....I was toast.

anyway...will write my other adventures in another post in this thread...since I have to run

I was there in 0x b4 the sheet hit the fan(the economy went belly up). I always want ed to go since 95 but $ was always a problem. To me its like a different world.after walking around justs for a few moments u feel a sense of relief that theres not some big azz cop steroided up ready to pounce on ya.You can actually feel the sense of freedom in the air.People are preoccupied with doing there own thing.there not minding your business at all.It was cool smoking at the grasshopper outdoors on the patio.scored some super silver haze from the greenhouse.Of course i was on a mission and the grl wanted to go see all the museums and such.I was more in a party mode.go with your friends and leave the chicks at home.Id have to say if you are overweight (which im not) you will lose weight fast.there so much walking around all the time.the dutch eat differently there in small portions and it seems french fries come with everything.cant say i was impressed with the food at all.I always seemed to be starving there. The city itself is congested and smog filled yet all the history makes up for some of the short comings.Checking out rembrants house was very cool.I digged the canal ride and the vibe at night was cool.id thought id run into reeferman at gypsys shop or someone but not even gypsy was there. Its freaking cool you can just go into a shop and buy seeds.I still had the paranoia though from time to time from the states. All the women seemed in shape from riding all the bicycles.not too many fatties there.once you get out of a dam all the prices drop.i think it was volundiem we went to to see the cheese being made.I should of trecked over to germany since they had the beer fest going on at that time.stayed at the jolly carlton and it was very good.wanted to go to the alien g shop but found out it was in another provence so never made it there.was looking to get sol adventure mix.overall id say if u are in your 20s youll go nuts there. You can still have a good time whether young or old it just had more of an excitement level when i was in my 20s as opposed to now.good nevertheless.try to keep from getting too stoned those trams will run ya over.Reminds me of nyc when people dont slow down.Would i go there again?possibly.I went when it was 75 cents on the dollar. Now i believe its like 50 cents or 54 cents.A dam is cool and definately adds to the excitement level especially within our trade or hobby.

My trips to Amsterdam have always been posative. I used to go 3-4 times a year, but after buying a house I make it across only once a year now :( The Dutch people are very friendly, most of the ones I have met have a very dry sense of humor! I reccommend trying the hash when you are out there as I usually find this to be better quality than the weed. The only downpoint I have found is some of the homeless people/street dealers can be aggressive (not physically) but I just ignore them.

Chamba

Lou...

most the above posts echo my exact experiences there too...it's a great place that would appeal to some one like you just as it has appealled to all of us!

out of all the places I've been to in the world, some of my fondest travelling memories are from Amsterdam

do yourself a massive favor...jump on a plane and fly to Amsterdam..just do it...(once your crop is hung) what's stopping you?

it is the Mecca for cannabis smokers....every smoker should go there at least once in their life ...not for the quality of the pot that's sold there, but to experience the freedom.

it's a beautiful city with a cool vibe, history, art, good people and a very sensible attitude to cannabis...

the Dutch are very polite and friendly in their way, even the Amsterdammers who are subject to thousands of drunk and stoned tourists every day....ask 9 out of 10 locals for directions and you'll be shown where you are on the map and pointed where to go with a smile....try that in New York or Paris!

just make sure you spend some time travelling outside of the city....there's more to Holland than just Am'dam

do some research here and online for places and things to do and see!

yeah, just do it!

Great post Chamba!
Spot on!
Many times i would ride the bike completely off the map and would stop and ask the first person that came by and if they lived in the city(which most do) they will get you back on track with a smile..

Mostly good people..............................CC

I had a good time. At times though I felt a little silly with that judges pass thing on - almost like sheep going to slaughter. lol...

The people were great - even when they are shrugging you off or being rude, they are polite. If that makes any sense. Good times though. I'd make the trip during the spring or summer next time though. The leaves had mostly fallen and it was a little drab about the city in November. I'd like to see it in full color next time.

Amsterdam is like a gigantic shop window to have a look at & benchmark some interesting strains, especially if you don't get your hands into much at home.

I recall I've been there 4 times and had more or less fun each time. My gf is less thrilled about weed and that sometimes brings the mood down, and I have never managed to bring my best friends along either.
:badday:

I suggest visiting Amsterdam between March-October. I've been there in November and February (on a damn cold day!), but of course the atmosphere is at its best during the warmer months.

It takes effort to find bud with great price/quality -ratio in the central Amsterdam, but we all know the good places, don't we? Haarlem is really close and the outer Amsterdam ain't bad either. It just depends on what you go there for...

There be my random stoned thoughts.

Great info above. Everyone here is on it. I have been there many times....

It is expensive, and if one has to watch costs too much, it takes away from the experience...

Agreed about the Fit Dutch Women... A bit Chilly, but Yum....

Watch out for the bicycles and trams, and cars, and people..... lol, seriously.

The people are amazing. The word is Magnanamous.

Bottom line: You gotta go.

It is a place to start European travel, especially for English speakers. More especially for Stoner English Speakers...

The Pot is so so - Occasionally one will find good weed. Grey Area is a good place to start, hours a bit different so check it out in the middle of the day, or after.

The Hash is lovely. Not always - of course, but better ratio of good to not so good.

Leavin; the goils at home is not a bad idea.

I've had wonderful experiences with the Dutch people they re so friendly, curtious, and tolerant, all but those D**n bicycle riders. In A'dam as a rule I found the smoking material on what I would consider a commercial level, unless you happen on a rare find. I did venture out some from A'dam and it was a beautiful country, so nice and clean. I loved the transit system it made it so much easier getting around once you started to learn how to use it. The taxi cabs were a real experience, we don't see such nice clean mercedes taxis, and then to discover not only is the cab clean and not stink, the driver is even nice and polite to you, and can speak better english than they do back in the USA. I will return to Holland but I will do my smoking somewhere other than A'dam.

Awesome time in Utrecht playing violin with mostly stoners going to the conservatory there. Great food, worse weather, but it's still the Mary Poppins :p The weed is top notch if you can get cool with the right growers.
Back in the states now, but still need to hit John from Grey Area up for that jam session he promised me so may come back one day soon :)
