That's because the national socialist flavor of socialism was not socialism whatsoever and was fascism, and fascists hate leftists because for the most part fascism takes center stage (likely through conditions created by the capitalist elite themselves) during times of deep capitalist economic despair to quell populist left uprisings (kind of like what's happening right now).
What is human nature? Capitalism? Why is it human nature to be forced to give your labor to an undemocratic unelected person for a portion of the value you've created for someone else? It's also only existed for a few hundred years out of the thousands if not ten+ thousand years humans have had organized civilization.

of course it's been tried, right after Lenin got in control
and as it was "tried", the Russian empire began to come apart and was approaching ungovernability
and that's where the compromise was struck with a munge of authoritarianism and pseudo socialism
it failed horribly, the lesson has been learned, at least for those who read history

Seems all forms of government are failures perhaps asides from tribalism. Though what defines success/failure as most governments and nations appear to evolve and break down with time depending on the level of corruption taking place. At times some governments appear to thrive only to later collapse such as the Roman Empire. There are too many factors and outside factors to analyze. Perhaps as stated it is simply "human nature" which appears to be both benevolent and malevolent at the same time depending on the individuals and time of expression and influence over the whole.
