How would I go about using bubble in the Volcano? http://www.thevolcanovaporizer.com lists no parts for oils/hash.

is your hash still sandy and unpressed? I would say that would be your best bet if you were to try, vaping a hash ball or chunk doesnt work too well, in my experience.

put some herb, vape the herb, when its finished vape it once more on 8.5 now sprinkle some very finely crumbled hash on the old herb. this works quite well. just don't put a lot at once and make sure it's as powdery as possible. if you put it on the screen it leaves a yucky paste on it.

What we do with the hotglass is throw a second screen a little above the first screen, giving a space between the two> the bottom one is filled with herb just in case the hash melts down, it gets caught in the herb, and it actualy works quite good. im sure you could do this with the volcano as well.

Kinda similar to using an "ash bowl" but vapo style. crumbling some bud vap'in that and then sprinklin on some hash on the remains sounds like a good idea to me.

When I bought my volcano at OCBC I also bought two little pads for doing oil and kief and hash. They are the diameter of the chamber, and about 1/8 to 1/4 inch thick. They look for all the world like squashed shiny stainless steel wool pads. The volcano site calls them the "liquid pad set", and gets $18 bucks for 2 of them.

I prefer them to most other techniques because it doesn't add another flavor to the hit. Besides, I find that for vaping oil/hash I usually set the volcano higher for oil and hash. That can overheat the pot and leave a bad taste.

When they fill up with goop, you soak them in alcohol and voila, clean like new.

yeah i like those pads for bubble in the volcano too, only i paid 5 euro for a pack of two, lol. you do need higher temps for bubble that's true.

what temp do you set your volcanos on to vape the bubble? do you start low and keep getting higher or just put on 7,8,9 and let it go. how many bags do you guys get. i will definitely get these hash pads for my volc. thanks for the info.

yeah you have to use a higher temp to get all the active ingredients vaporized. but you can start with 6 if you like a very cool tasty first bag. then refill on 7, then on 8.5 and then you are done. but in the end it's up to your own preference. even on 8.5 there will be a left over tarry substance on the screen when you are done, i pick it off as best i can before reloading.

I'll second what Gaius said, though I usually start off about 7. I use one of the volcano steel wool hash pads, it may make a difference, I don't know.

yeah man, it's really a matter of prefference in the end. i also like to start quite hot some times, if i'm in a hurry for the effect or want to get some poor ususpecting victim who's never had a vaporizer before, wrecked out of his mind then i'll start it on 7 with hash and on 6 with cannabis. and 6.5 if its bud with a fine layer of bubble on it.

I use the liquid pad/hash screen to vaporize my hashish. Busting it into the *very tiny little bits and sprinkling until there is no screen in sight from above. I then let it sit for about 15-20 seconds (instead of the 5 like with bud) I start off at 5.5. I find I can usually get a few bags before I need to turn it up to 6, then the same before going to 6.5, 1-2 on 7, 1 on 7.5 and a final on 8, by then very little vapor is being released and I toss the remains. Like has been said a few times in this thread, it all comes down to preference.

definitely agree with these steps:
use already vaped herb as a medium to hold the granular hash.
use finely ground hash or kif.

really.. kif ive found to be the best.

I use fresh unvaped bud as a base. Better taste than using the dregs.

Though I do prefer to crumble some just on the pads.

I just grind up hash really really fine and put it in the volcano and vape as usual.
Works like a charm, you can even enjoy shitty soapbar hash this way because you dont have to endure the crap taste

I'm surprised to see so many people recommending taking the Volcano temperature above 6.5. In my experience, any medicinal goodies that are going to come out of the bud or hash can be gotten from settings of 6 to 6.5. More importantly, I've read somewhere that benzene (something that you want absolutely no part of) begins to release into the vapor in significant quantities somewhere in the 6.7 to 7.0 range. This study was done with plant matter as I recall, so hash might be a different case entirely, but it is definitely something to research before risking your health. Doing vapor bags with benzene in them sort of defeats the purpose of vaporizing to begin with. Be safe.

Also, using already-vaporized stuff is a fantastic way to use hash in the Volcano. You want a layer to cover the bottom of the screen, then another light layer over top of it so it doesn't nastify the mesh screen that presses down on it. Without the upper layer, the screen can get gunked up to the point that the normal cleaning methods don't work.

When I vape hash or oil in the volcano I set it on nine right from the start and use a smaller bag than when vaping bud. I get thicker vapor like this and it seems more eficient. Lower temps don't seem to vape the hash completely, except if i'm using powdered kif wich vapes easier at low temps.
