Vertical training??

Anyone have any luck with training plants specifically to be tall and skinny??

I'm flowering some seedling that's I just topped at the second node. I want the 4 branches to go as straight up as possible, without branching sideways.

I was think tomato cage style but force the branches to stay in the center. I've also thought back to grows past where I simply left the plants too crowded for too long and they naturally grew with that vertical pattern.

The tommy cage uses hoops. Could you use just hoops, of garden wire. Bind the branches in place, before they are thick enough to resist.
