here's circle of fail precisely at 56 days, week or two to go, or so. looking a bit scarce without leaves, i am simply not good at training seed plants. at least in vertical setup.
luckily i have 4 cuttings waiting for their turn and they will be trained to vertical screens, so no more white walls. that is if they decide not to herm or die or both.
now at 61 days, thinking of chopping them at around 70 , or atleast 65. and quick pic of my favorite pheno, im sure tho that the others would as branchy too if they didn't have to share containers. smell is kinda creamy hashy, with some candy maybe? more candy than fruity if that makes sense.
cuts, switched the 50w ufo to 23w cfl to slow them a bit. bit fucked leaves as they didn't get food until now in their little 1,4 liter pots but it'll be fine.
day 69 in the other tent, i'd aiming for something like 73 days to cut them down. it's probably enough for these. during next round im about to pop some new seeds, been thinking about cannabiogens taskenti. and after that bangi haze from ace, taskenti x bangi haze next year you see
well, they did get chopped at 70 days after all, last 4 weeks water only:
also decided to give cuts away and start new project from seeds. i think it will be taskenti, its speaking to me in a mysterious way. also been leaning more to panama instead of bangi haze, but anyway all will be ace/cbg stock of some sort and i already have seeds of all 3 mentioned.
so far i have 3 taskenti seedlings, and the 4th might not be make it. so i put some bangi hazes to water. so 3 bags will have one taskenti per bag and one will have 2 bangi hazes, at least until they shows sex. ideally i'd have both female and male (which would be cut) for pollen chuck, just a small cutting of the male will give enough pollen to impregnate few selected branches
yeah the plants are still small but i've been thinking of doing stacked 2x150w vertical in the next run. it's just a idea still, but maybe. one lamp is simpler of course, but two smaller better spread. propoline had a thread about it and that's where i got the idea. winter is approaching so i don't think it'd be a temp problem. well gotta think about it..
oh and no more updates until something is going on, promise.
Post #76 ....it makes a hard argument really. I mean look at those fuckin' buds!!!
But would more light spread via 2 bulbs provide those results?
I think yes. Due to my large vert fail.
I should have stacked 3x400's instead of 2x600's
Fucking plants were more then close enuff to the light...but if I could have spread the light out....ahh hindsight n' someone elses advice...always 20/20.
How ya making out anyways? Fucking hate growing from seed unless its outdoor...some of us just ain't got the knack.
well, promises are made to be broken or was it something else?
im not sure if reason to do stacked is logical, more like fun if anything, im pretty sure that one 250 bulb covers illumination needs more than good.
i like cuts, but lately just been popping many seeds, going through the little collection. at a point where im allowing myself to buy couple packs more soon
well the couple bangies didn't take off (old seeds) so i sprouted 4th taskenti and planted it. the 4th one will be week or so behind the rest but that's no problem as they will have decent veg time anyway and seed plants are slow on the first weeks anyway.
and it will be another 250w run, except most of vegging will be with led.
I really enjoy reading a like minded smaller grows hobbyist's endeavors. I like how you think. Thanks.
I had read that scuffing up old seeds first really improves germ rate. My method is, I roll up a 4"(10 cm) square of sandpaper into a tube, fold over one end, and tape everything. Then I put the seeds (usually just 3 or 4) in and shake it like hell for 30 sec. or so. 100% germ rate doing that method first before trying to pop them.
I imagine it won't work with some seeds still, but I do that to all seeds before germing now. I had too many fail. Can get expensive.
thanks for commenting dddaver, usually i have pretty good germ rate with 3-4 year old seeds, but beyond that the germ rate starts to drop. i might try that method next time i start older seeds.
bit early to hook the hid, but did it anyway, they are not getting maximm amount of light but enough to reach it soon. bigger ones 2 weeks from seed and and the little one week from seed.
i hooked up the 150 again, gonna get fresh bulb for them soon as this one has been used couple of times already. i think im gonna give a single 150 w another go. less light of course but tent stays nicely cool and the danger zone around bulb is much more narrow than 250.
set up the stakes for future training. in a week or two they start to look like something, im sure. also put remaining 4 bangies to glass of water. wouldn't mind couple nice males coming from them.
