the small t5's i use (26w) are strong enough UV-wise to show damage to the plant tops - but they need to be very close to the plants - less than 6" away. using reflectors will help and rotating plants so all the colas get a period where they are very close to the tubes

Thanks for the in put. Keeping them very close like you do is the way T5s can be effective for irradiating small areas. Those small reptile CFLs are not effective in UV-b like some higher radiance T5's. Do you know the UV-a and UV-b radiance?

hi spurr. the UV t5 tubes are a pretty new realease (you could only get t8's in the Uk before - not sure about USA) there is no data for how much they put out - but i guessed they would be better than t8's. they are also in a digi ballast

i spin my little scrog modules round 180 degrees every week so the other side is closer to the t5's which are on the sides of my cab

Found this info at cannabis-world:

UV-B meter 190$ http://www.solarmeter.com/model62.html

And these are supossed to be very powerful lamps as well
http://prolight.info/philips.html (sorry they're buried in there! these bulbs are hard to find for sale.)
The TL-01 is narrow band(311-313nm), while the TL-12 is wide band(270-350nm)

Not too sure how Gypsy feels about links to other forums. This was done as a "reference cited." If this is not cool, Mods please delete. thanks!

Id bet that bulb has a stronger spectra somewhere around 510nm...LOL the irony!

sayin Dif LIGHTS AND SPECTRUMS will not effect colour, flavour, smell, taste, even the touch of your nugs, is like saying ah no dif as to what you put in your crop for FERTILIZERS.

that said. what goes in has a 100% effect as to what comes out.

how do i know this, easy, grown chem and grown organic, Used HPS and used MH, also used reptile lights and even energy effecient buds.

shit got pk goin now. the bud closest to the "energy effecient bulb" has purple hairs comin out, never seen that before.

anybody that trash talks this post does not grow mj. so that said, I don't care for your opinion, simply stating facts
will shoot pics manana
