Silva always backs straight up when he dodges a punch. I knew he would get clipped on the chin one day. Thats the problem with always pulling straight back. His opponent watches the videos of his fights, steps in alot more and aims for the back of Silvas head when he throws a punch, and that defeats Silvas gay, dodgy, "backing up", show-off shit.
Hes so cocky and arrogant. Im glad he got K.O'ed.
I hope this time Weidman ground and pounds Silva and breaks his will to ever be in the cage again.
I hope it haunts Silvas nightmares forever.
I wanna see serious blood, coming from Silva, covering the ring, Weidmans elbows, and gloves. I wanna see Silva tap like a bitch.
The only fight I really wanna see on this card is Uriah Hall knocking around Chris Leben for 2 rounds. Then coming out in the 3'rd, to a bloodied, exhausted Leben, whos heart is only gonna get his own face punched in by Hall for another devastating round.
Leben is just a punching bag for the heavy hitters like Hall.
Silva is a much more skilled fighter, the best of all time, and he will knock Weidman out tonight.
He is not going to clown, he is going to fight angry, and he will destroy Weidman, who got lucky in the first fight.
I see Silva leg kicking him 'till he can't walk, and then destroying him with strikes & knees.
Silva will destroy him,
Shaking hands is an American deal, and guess what, Americans did not invent martial arts.
Brazilians are much "sweeter" @ heart than Americans,
And another thing, the one thing I don't like about this sport. When a man is knocked out with one punch, which Silva clearly was, how is it sporting to pounce on an unconscious man and smash him in the face a few more times? This should not be allowed. If a fighter's defenseless and unconscious, why hit him again when he is flat on his back with his arms at his side? Someone is going to get killed some day by these tactics, and I think they need to change the rules to prevent more damage to a fighter who is already knocked out. Dan Henderson punching an unconscious Bisping was a prime example of this cowardly tactic. There should be a penalty for punching an unconscious fighter. I don't see anything sporting about it.
Yes, it is the referees job, but we all know the referee can't get there quickly enough to prevent several more blows. However, in the spirit of sportsmanship, I feel the guys who walk away after a knockout are showing class and restraint. After all, the other guy's unconscious. How is that sporting to hit an unconscious opponent? I just don't think that should be part of the sport, just as in boxing, hitting after the bell is not allowed. And I like the standing 8 count in boxing. Maybe it will take a brain damaged or dead fighter to get a rule change.
MMA hasn't been around long enough to see the long term damage of taking punches & kicks to the head. I'm pretty sure you will be seeing "punch drunk" MMA fighters in the future, and it's only a matter of time before someone gets killed by a blow to the temple in the octagon. A good example was Josh Barnett last night. He was knocked out by a knee, fell to his knees and was propped up by the other guy's knee, who proceeded to slam him in the temple with three elbows, any one of which could have been fatal, all because the referee didn't seem to notice that he was already knocked out by the knee, which the announcers didn't notice either, even after watching it a second time. I like to see a good fight, but I don't think it should be life or death. After all, it's supposed to be a "sport". Where's the sportsmanship in hitting an unconscious opponent?

They are told in the dressing room to protect themselves at all times and that the fight only stops when the ref pulls them off, the bell rings.
The ones who were unsportsmanlike were dealt with. They lost the biggest shots of their careers by doing so. One who should have been punished that wasnt was Hendo and he even admitted to knowingly trying to hurt Bisping after he knew he was out. It was disgraceful and I Was sure he was going to get suspended.

The standing 8 count and the 3 knockdown rule are 2 of the most dangerous things about boxing and the reason why there are many more boxers dying and falling victim to brain damage than MMA fighters.
In MMA you get a flash KO, hit maybe 1-2 times and the fight is over. In boxing, you get a flash KO and maybe take 1 on the way down and hey, as long as you can get up again in 8 seconds, we will let you get hit another 10-20 times and fall down again and so on and so on. Its this prolonged head trauma that leads to so much long term damage.
MMA is much safer than boxing but its not "safe" by any means cause getting punched in the head for a living is not a recipe for a long, healthy life.
