MANDEVILLE, La. -- A St. Tammany Parish Sheriff's deputy on patrol rescued a missing girl from Houston after finding her in a car with three undocumented immigrants during a traffic stop.

According to the St. Tammany Parish Sheriff's Office, an STPSO deputy stopped a red Honda Civic with a Texas license plate for traveling with their high beams activated on Interstate 12 Friday morning. During the stop, the deputy discovered that a young girl traveling inside the vehicle with three men was reported missing by the Houston Police Department on Jan. 5.

I grew up when the berlin wall was 'up'. It is repugnant to me to consider us building the same. I live in a border state with mexico. Yes there are problems with illegals. But it is lazyness to think this is the solution.

I am not a global citizen. I am a US citizen and make no apologies for putting my country first. Fuck global responsibility. We spend enough of the taxes all US deplorables pay on shit to protect others like NATO and the UN. Not to mention all the foreign aid that should go to our poor and homeless, and to our vets.

Mind your own store first.
Nobody speaks dull with as much fluency.[/QUOTE]

That wasn't my post. Edit your shit, that quote insults my illiterate non educated ass. My post is the one below.

just because Gypsy is allowing this discussion for now, doesn't mean we have a tou free zone. if this is your attempt at not insulting the members, then i have to wonder if you are even able to discuss an issue such as this without sinking to insults.

He is the new liberal. If you don't agree with his babble you must be uneducated and ignorant. Education doesn't fix stupid though...

"Keep, ancient lands, your storied pomp!" cries she
With silent lips. "Give me your tired, your poor,
Your huddled masses yearning to breathe free,
The wretched refuse of your teeming shore.
Send these, the homeless, tempest-tost to me,
I lift my lamp beside the golden door!"

Now that sign says " No Vacancy".

you off your head? cause i don't want to be insulted in a discussion i'm a babbling liberal? what a world you must live in where everyone is either right or left, rather then being human with a bunch of different opinions, some maybe even opposed to each other.

anyway you are still failing to actually argue or discuss even a single point i made regarding this wall thing. you, just like the other guy, are all about personally attacking the member rather then answering the points made with your own arguments.

i really don't mind the banter, but the personal level attacks are just plain boring and unimaginative. i never said anything about education as far as i recall, just about arguing the subject instead of insulting the poster/member making a statement or voicing an opinion.

Yeah, I agree with gaius, all this futile name calling and labeling of members within some sort of political doctrine actually shows your views to be somewhat narrow-minded.

There are many of us who don't adhere to any sort of established political dogma, political party or support any of the current, or past politicians.

Personally I have never come across a politician that I could, or would vote for, or support within an election that I could vote in.

So I'm not a liberal, a conservative, a labourite, a neo-nazi, a democrat, a royalist, a communist, a conservative or a whig, a marxist, a trotskyist, a socialist nor a national socialist, a christian democrat, a luddite, a islamofascist or a fascist, a green, a pink, a blue or a yellow.

I'm just me Gypsy Nirvana.

a bit off topic to the wall but on topic with donald
just a thought
as i dont think people are dumb i think most people voted for him because he is a smart businessman that would rip out his opponent this is what i feel let many people vote for him
the problem is as i think he dosend only rip his opponents he is a opportunist he wants it all
its really an "all in" poker game giving him all the power... but i also see and understand that many people dont hawe much to lose anymore

Trump seems to govern via Twitter, so it is appropriate to sum up his policies with internet memes!

Whatever you think of him the guy is highly entertaining, personally I would never listen to politicians speaking but Trump has a way of drawing me in!

Just reading some the statistics here will make it self evident why a wall is just too basic of a solution for a complex issue, one that has shown to significantly been declining recently.

If the wall builds jobs, it's a temporary bandage because the wall will eventually be finished. The cost of the wall could potentially be paid for by Mexicans crossing the border, but how long would that take?

The problem and real question is why do Americans need to compete for low paying basic labor jobs with imigrants crossing illegally? With the opportunities as an American born citizen why are people competeing for these shit jobs? The exporting of good jobs from America is more of an issue and education in some states being sub par also contributes. If you're a high school drop out and can't find a job it's not just because of illegal immigrants. The corporations and the corrupt politicians are the real enemy and not other humans looking to feed their children and families. A wall will not solve anything other than make you "feel" safer.

A wall will not keep out criminals who are determined to come in.
I have heard of people who have paid border agents to let them cross. It's about 10-15k per person. There tunnels too mostly used for drug smuggling and who do you think smuggles these drugs? Criminals do and they're hired and paid to cross the border. A wall doesn't address any of this.

It's a sign of the times, people want to be entertained with politics, and I agree Trump is at least entertaining, but it may pan out to be a very dangerous sort of entertainment, kinda like throwing yourself off the Alps in a wing-suit for the first time, and ad-lib'ing it on the way down, because you are unsure of the route, so the risk factor of crashing is off the charts.

Saying that, it's early days. Give the man his dues, and let's see how it all pans out, and sure, it'll be nothing but entertaining.

*note, he has said nothing about what cannabis policy he might adopt, and that will be so important to just about all of us. Hopefully it will be positive.

I agree with you 100%. The USA has had an entertainer at the helm before, but I am too young to remember if Reagan made as many nutty statements as Trump?

Reagan never made a statement that wasn't approved by Nancy..
The easiest solution is to take over
USA all the way to the Panama canal
A wall down there would be a hell of a lot cheaper
Use all the money we spend killing brown people overseas to root out the cartels and crooked cops mayors and politicians..
McCain and his ilk get to keep killing ...Cheney gets to keep making money...Dumbshit Donny can open soo many more golf courses...

i have hard time believing any really large wall is going to be built
small rewards, high expense
more likely a big name/smaller wall, and we'll move on to other Trump promises

I'm jiving on the preponderance of political satire coming out lately, there is so much of it, I spend my days cracking up (laughing) a lot at it, and it's coming from both sides of the political spectrum....in buckets.

This had me almost incontinent:
http://www.liveleak.com/view?i=8d6_1484505901

Yort suggested the idea that this currently un-built wall could, in the future have a double purpose.

To stop US citizens from getting out. Hmm, now that's a thought.

Perhaps they will turn the whole country into a Fed/Pen?

I think we already have a good share of the world's trash and they ain't from Mexico.

nowhere as many, but every bit as nutty. "i have in my possession indisputable proof that smoking one marijuana cigarette causes as much brain damage as an atomic bomb ". this is not word for word, because i am quoting from memory... but it is damn close!:tiphat:
