Going after Chelsea Manning again, they want Assange.

2 previous administrations were pressured to do this, and
they each declined to do so.
Would like to point out the bipartisan refusal to do so.
That kind of bipartisanship does not exist in this kind of political
environment with out great cost.

Was always dismayed by the lack of alarm at the treatment of water protectors over the pipeline.

The oil company brought in 'insurgency specialists', having sworn in court that is what they were up against.
Big corporate gets to do this at no cost to themselves after lying through their teeth ?
When corporate owned media which some enjoy calling liberal refuse to report this,
the result is the evisceration of democratic principals without even have anyone notice.

Exactly the same tactics are now being employed against reporters working the border beat.

A few blocks to the east of the White House on the same street, used to be a pub and bar called Mr Henry's.

Think it was around 71 or so. I was young and had just come back home and was wallowing in hamburger land and trying figure out again what America was. I was bedazzled with the nice females who could explain to me that dr pepper was just like mr pibb.

I spent time mandatory time on the wall in front of the White House, and was greeted warmly by others who were also protesting the war.

Was given a gig working as a busboy at Mr Henry's. I had three weeks to fill.

A very talented Roberta Flack had been preforming there just prior to my arrival.

She had been living in the apartment above the bar up until a week prior to my arrival.

Never had the chance to see her there, though I did get an opportunity to see her for free at the

"P Street Beach".

There was a very nice young woman who they had hired to play in the evenings.

She was real nice, and a couple of years older than I.

Young lady was Emmy Lou Harris.

I was the young one there, and got along with her

well enough that she invited me to get stoned after work.

We walked over to her place and smoked several bowls.
It rained as we smoked. The lights of the city sparkled brightly
in the rain as I walked back from her place.

Neat little bar over by the barracks, where one could see Roy Buchanan. Had steamed shrimp, blue crab and softshells.

Here’s Why America Is Dumping Its Trash in Poorer Countries

The filthy secrets of the multibillion-dollar global recycling industry.

https://www.motherjones.com/environ...ica-is-dumping-its-trash-in-poorer-countries/

It's only recycling if they melt it down or grind it up, and re-use it.

I don't understand who makes money in the recycling world.

I thought they sold bales of cardboard, for example, and paper manufacturers buy that because it's easier than making paper from trees.

I understood that they were shipping trash to China and China stopped taking it.

There is an island of floating trash in the pacific as big as Texas. Guess what's happening with the trash.

Our children are eating it, and we are just getting started.
One may be assured the pace will increase dramatically.
Our options were always very different than described.

The world is switching to no physical currency. It's going to be digital in a few years. Much easier to track, spending habits, and location. The government will know your every move, and corporations will be able to eliminate any access to private wealth with a few key strokes. No food, no travel, no housing.

Mastercard has already started, as has PayPal. Google is helping China do it now. Social credit score is terrifying. The facism and tyranny is predicated by the corporations, with the blessing of the government in the west. China doesn't hide it. They don't deny the authoritarianism, they embrace it. The government, not the people to be clear.

Lucidity is not at a high point for me right now, but am pretty sure that we did in fact leave the seventies quite a while back.

Can recall spending late nights at Washington Cathedral to hear Majors doing keyboard practice.

Just a short jaunt from there to Black pond, where one could on a regular basis hear someone practicing with a recorder right at dawn.
Black Pond was the result of work done on the tow path by a young surveyor named George.

Earthworks when it had yet to evolve into "Grey Beard's of London. The original location in the same building as the DC Switchboard over by DuPoint Circle.

Nicest damn head shop I have ever seen.

Yep, it's coming. Might have to move to some developing country if you want to use cash money in the future, they won't give up on paper money soon because they don't have the systems to handle digital currency. And massive loads of poor people with no bank accounts are a problem. More developed countries tho.. God damn, I was in Stockholm, Sweden a couple of months ago and they already have many cafes and boutiques that have a "We don't accept cash. Credit card or mobile payment only" sign on their front door.

According to some Swede university study, if the current trend there continues where more and more people switch from using cash to digital currency, paper money will be obsolete come March 2023.

The current top-5 list for Shit that came from Sweden is:
1. IKEA 2. Assembly-line pop music 3. Roxette 4. ABBA 5. Dolph Lundgren.

Digital currency and the death of cash will obviously take the pole position in March 2023 if it happens. Bad news for everyone that isn't Dolph Lundgren. He'll be off the list and that's the best thing that's happened to him since Rocky 4. For the rest of us, I fear it will be something like "Let's get rid of cash, Swedes already did it!"

Here's a link to the study if someone is interested, and speaks Swedish:

God damn Sweden, mang..

Deep within the recesses I can't help but wonder if the Norwegians would be blamed.
