The Great Big Appion G5 Twin Thread

Drunkengrower: I've run two on my system for quite a while. They've had several rebuilds but are probably pushing 400+ hours of run time. As with any pump they need a large dryer on the inlet to keep resin out of the pump.

Hey RB, how many hours in did have before your first rebuild? I've put quite a few hours on mine, just curious. Thx

I'm testing some cheaper seals for the pistons and will report back soon.
For regular users, go to a hydraulic seal place and buy some extra o-rings:
For the Appion G-5 O-rings are as follows:

Valve stems: #008 Buna or Viton
Valve retainer nut: #013 Buna or Viton
Cyl. Head to valve plate: #027 Viton
Cyl to valve plate: #026 viton
Cylinder head – exhaust valve : #013 Viton

Piston seal energizer: #115 Viton

Get ten of each and you'll always have a spare.

Did you ever test the orings for the piston seals? Please let me knoiw as 199.00 for a rebuild kit is nuts.

I bought a used pump and it does not build pressure took it apart and nothing looks bad.

Maximus: I haven't tested generic seals yet, but here's a nice tip.

The Promax RG6000 uses the EXACT same seals as the Appion and the seal kits from Century tool are reasonable.

Who is raping you $199 for seal kits? That's bullshit.

or just the piston seals: http://www.centurytool.net/SK_6015_PROMAX_RG6000_Piston_Seal_Rebuild_Kit_p/sk-6015.htm

Twenty bucks is a bit better than two hundred eh? You're welcome.

I'd still go to a local hydraulic seal supplier and get ten or twenty of the o-rings in the above list as well. That way you can replace all the o-rings during a rebuild.

Peace.
