I imagine some slaves celebrated when massa gave them Sunday afternoons off.
Whoopee fucking doo! You might get some time off, but you're STILL on the plantation!

The idea that the same cast of fuckers who stole houses, shot dogs and made good honest people lose their children and get sent to prison could be doing something good is a little odd. Can you say Paraquat? Fuck them and the stolen horse they rode in on!

The whole regulatory scheme, FED, STATE, LOCAL is a mountain of bullshit to make sure the right parasitic people make money and wield control.

No schedule and ZERO government intervention is what freedom looks like.
Nobody needs permission to grow a plant(s).

Free the fucking weed.

In the Netherlands we have since 2003 a Bureau of Medicinal Cannabis on government and one company is having a license since then to grow it. For patients its hard to get a prescription.

Since 2018 general practitioners aren't allowed to prescribe it from their association because there is no prove. A specialist can give you prescription if the specialist is positive about the medical value of Cannabis, but that will cost €385,- for the prescription alone. There are only 5 varieties to choose from and the price is at the moment €32.40 for 5 grams and those 5 grams are also irradiated. The Health insurance companies will not cover the costs, because there is no medical prove. Grow your own can you cost your house because of the law of Damocles, unless you got a license after approval of a judge.

When this is implemented into Schedule III, i'm just curious how easy to get a prescription in non medical States you have at the moment.

As lawfare/regulatory capture is clearly about politicians pandering to a "special interest", I ask you whom is this honestly going to benefit (aka who's paying/lobbying for it)? As with all lawfare/regulatory capture corruption, it is sold as "in the public's best interest" with a specific (backroom) goal of benefiting the inside players/"special interests" which as always results in it's injurious nature to the public in general.

Call me crazy, but considering any immediate impact this may have, is this a tax play by Big Canna?!?

Like the pandemic era political declaration of cannabis as an "essential service", the beneficiaries seem obvious IMHO.

Sched III means it will be legal as an approved pharmacological product which would be produced by...pharmacological companies. Maybe after it's moved to Sched III pharma companies will produce it in pill form only and maybe that's all that will be legal.

I'm assuming except for those types of jobs that I believe require drug testing due to an increased danger to the public, THC drug testing for employment will go away up to and including the federal level. Unless employers, including the low paying retail mega-corps would be able to continue to drug test for THC and then require the employee prove they have an Rx for it or not get hired/get shit canned.

Any changes to Rx or research, good or bad, will take years my friend. Furthermore, it will require a whole new pile of lawfare/regulatory capture schemes to be put on the books. Let's just say that is a whole new ball of wax noone is talking about ...

That is why I focused on the immediate effects or tit for tat required in the political wrangling. Why is noone talking about the real and immediate benefits? Coincidental?

As for drug testing, not only schedule I narcotics are considered a failure. There is no hope for any change here other than some prescription based defense years further down the road.

I just hope this doesn't give the Feds an excuse to go back on their "We won't fuck with legal states" policy.

I can hear it now......

"OK, we rescheduled it like you asked. Now, we are going to enforce Schedule 3 laws. You can't produce Schedule 3 drugs at home."

No home grow.

The money people look at home growers as market share they don't have..... yet.

Albeit, I grew gorilla for 50 years out of 53. I can always go back to it. LOL

Only time will tell. Have they set a time frame for actually doing it?

What exactly scared you about doing that last week that no longer scares you today?
The wording Schedule 1 controlled and dangerous substance will no longer be applied if i go down. DOJ for all intents and purposes will not treat me the same as the criminal they would have before their very own boss said we're changing this.

Well if it makes you feel better brother, I am glad. Although, criminal law, both state and federal is complicated and especially as it relates to cannabis today. This is clearly yet another form of lawfare/regulatory capture with an exceptional amount of special interests with many decades in the game. I am not sure which state you live in, but here in Michigan for example the law is already written with a marijuana exception.
  • A conviction for manufacturing, creating, delivering, or possessing with the intent to manufacture, create, or deliver any other schedule 1, 2, or 3 substance except marijuana or a substance listed in MCL 333.7212 (1) (d) 3 is a felony punishable by: • imprisonment for not more than seven years; or • a fine of not more than $10,000; or • both.

Hard to believe that was shot 13 years ago for a medical marijuana farmers market in Flint still in operation today.

BTW Who is the "boss" you are referring to here?

I'm in a highly Prohibition state in the US, so the change in scheduling isn't going to make anything different for me, unfortunately.

It goes to the Office of Management and Budget, they'll rubber stamp it, should take several months but this should go through relatively quickly, foreign official "government" action.

The department of redundancy department has to get involved, after all. ;)

I want to stress again, this is a _not_ political or legal issue. This is so _research_ can be done to prove cannabis is actually a _medicine_, and not a dangerous fucking drug. Btw, the DEA's former name was the Bureau of Narcotics and _Dangerous_ Drugs. o_O
