Sorry about that, I had too brake up a dog fight... my Lil~ones kinda sassy !
Alright here a fairly good picture of a trich, you can see the amber fluid
pushing it's way towards the head, as it does so it forces the material in
front of it up as well, causing the head too become cloudy... when it reaches
the top of the stem and pushes into the head, the head itself will become amber.
Please excuse the micro dust, my can of compressed air took a shit...[empty]
Here's a better pic of the head, the focus @ those magnitudes is so tight
that it really makes taking high quality pictures difficult without blurring
out another portion in the field of view... it ain't easy be'n cheesy either !
Here's the thing now, I've been do'n the whole trich watch for a few
years and taking notes, while also gathering opinions from my homies.
After reviewing the data the conscientious is that "my" Marijuana is at
it's peak potency and flavor when the heads are @ 90 to 95% cloudy
with at least 60% of those being amber in color and perhaps 5% that
have burst and released their gooey goodness and oils all over the buds !
I'm sure everyone has their own opinion and I'd be interested in hearing
yours, post away... but for me and my crew of motley homies that's where
we're at for maximum enjoyment, without too much couch lock, ya know ?
The things I go through for your viewing pleasure... Lol !

interesting about the coloration in the stem of the trich seems almost purple ,does it turn amber later on and does the stem get cloudy? when I study my trichs with my naked eye I see mostly cloudy not many clear but I never seem to find amber

Those macro shots & trich pics are insane man !!! you should really post that in the GG thread & at the society .... it will help us all get a better idea of when to harvest her . most .... myself included have been taking her around 63 days . but your process will tell us the real time frame or just verify the 63 day mark we already use . either way dude .....

I keep coming back to look at that second pic ...... dude , you fukin killed it !!! they are probably the best i've seen it grown !!! Unc & purple frostbyte are putting out the best i've seen so far , but damn if you ain't right there with them , maybe better !!!

I gotta agree with Dan again - a top notch Glue grow. Probably would take some extreme micromanagement to do much better.

As far as to how deep in amber I like my buds, it depends. Weed for pain and ZZZs - more amber, for my head - less. I had to let a clone go longer than the seed mother - like I swear I could see a amber hue from a distance - and I liked it much more than the 1st round. Until this plant, I chopped as soon as there werent any clear trichs left.

I cant be sure, but I dont think its the loss of chlorophyll. I only see it, sort of like an aura, on the buds. I prefer a long flush so the leaves are usually near death at harvest (buds are still green) and I only see it as plants run longer - this last 1 in particular.
If I was sprout - id have such a big grin on my face it would hurt lol

no , no official GG4 pic yet . i grabbed one of Unc's for the front page pic of the glue society , but if Sprout can come up with a good one , i'll be more than happy to replace it .

I'd guess the amber is a higher concentrate of the glucose serum. Real sweet tasting. Plants produce flowers to attract seed spreaders and in the autumn i'd bet they push out excess P&K while retaining all N to really increase aromatic and taste. I'm wicked irey that's my guesstimate on the 'aura'
