You saw the mama, now here is her daughter, the Red Headed Stranger (1992 Williams Wonder x Tom Hill's Haze) -- this is a very stacky Haze pheno at about 65 days of flowering:

that's really cool. i've never seen colored trich heads, normally it's just the stalks that are colored...

how can you tell when they are ambering up?

Some of them you'll see yellowy-amber creeping into the head like a crazy wizard globe. Others turned a very deep violet that almost looks black by the time they finished. This was the first time that I had the chance to notice the purple trich heads as early as 2 weeks into flowering and follow their maturation through harvest, dry, and cure... they all stayed intact through finish!
