rockwool is in fact unhealthy.

Everything is unhealthy if you use it wrong. Don't blame rockwool for pilot error.

so question, freezerboy, do you use the shot glass method and than put it into the rock wool or do you just put the seed directly into the rock wool

he direct sows to rockwool see post #5 above
I direct sow to peat pellets, you can soak it if you want. just it's an extra step that you don't have to do.

D'oh! Stonedar beat me to it. I just plop the seed in the cube, cover with a torn off bit of rockwool and slip cube into the bubbler.
