The best pack of cannabis seeds I've bought to date has been Rez's Supersilverchemdoghaze (SSCDH), a union of his old school Greenhouse SSH and a Chem male generated from backcrosses to the Chem D clone. I justified the high sticker price with the potential they held for future generations. Not really understanding the ins and outs of breeding seeds, I figured with excellent parents the F2's should produce many desirable plants as well. Even if I ran into a good bit of variation I could find nice sativa and indica leaning phenos for mothers.
The F1's exceeded my expectations, every female in the pack was a standout in some regard with a solid yield of dense aromatic sticky white buds that finished in a reasonable 70 days. The Chem influence in the smell, taste and high was more prevalent than any I've found in the F2's, more of a knockout stone with an earthy, meaty funk in taste and smell.
The F2's were the result of an open pollination with the three males staying in the tent with the remaining seven females. The seeds were collected from the seven mothers and combined. Because the males matured faster than the females only early lower buds were pollinated, each plant mothering about 25 seeds leaving me about 300 to work with. Gives a nice feeling of security to pop 30 seeds and have so many left over the loss isn't even noticeable. Even better when they're easy to grow into quality plants of lemon-scented chemy-hazy crystal-covered goodness. Perhaps it is switching from coco and GH to organic soil, but three of the four plants I recently harvested had distinct real lemon aroma and taste that wasn't in the F1. If not the change in medium, the Chem influence seems to be less present so maybe lemon is coming from the Super Silver Haze or whatever the Chem D was outcrossed to.
While not as overwhelming as the F1, the F2's provide a solid balanced relaxed yet clear and stimulating stone. Classic comfortable 'broken-in' high when you have some tolerance. Profoundly alters consciousness when taken with a low tolerance. Very suitable for meditation, contemplation, art and music appreciation/creation, spending time outside, hanging out with friends--basically good all around pot, that's been my impression so far.
After a few test grows I've decided to dedicate my last grow before summer vacation to these SSCDH F2. Now I have 29 seedlings above soil which I plan to document in this thread. I'm considering making some F3's for server fund/freebies if people like how they perform in this test grow. If there is something worth sharing I'm happy to share, let's put it that way.
Good vibes all.
