I would not.

I may be mistaken-but the sodium with disassociate into salts.

Use potassium bicarbonate or I use wood ash water (lye water)

Sodium carbonate or bicarbonate is not recommended because sodium becomes toxic rather quickly. Anything with carbonate or bicarbonate in it will also increase you pH buffering capacity. If this is not desired, try potassium hydroxide instead.
