I've got to get my extraction system as quiet as possible.
Got a 1000m3 (588cfm) exhaust and 680m3 (400cfm) intake rigged to a thermostatic speed controller.
I'm gonna box up the fans and have got some acoustic duct to help with the woosh.
Was thinking of using polystyrene loft insulation sheets for the boxes as it's cheap and easy to work with. Sealed with a few zip ties... But was wonder if its better to use a sound damping material, or just stuff the box with loft insulation the itchy rockwool looking bastard stuff
Also, how much insulation would be needed? I was thinking with 2" on top, bottom and each side of fan, plus fill in space if using loft insulation.... Is this enough? I would like to keep the boxes fairly small...
Was thinking about a muffler for intake and exhaust too... anybody have experience with these? Any good??
I'm gonna do a lil D.I.Y when I get em done as there doesn't seem to be many around these days.
