I've had that happen to me several times in the past. KKSC does come to mind. I always thought it was light bleached. Never smoked it either. CC now you tell me.

Kinda looks like an iron malfunction or mutation. I had B Dominas that did the same thing only the buds grew corkscrewy and got funky. This only happend on singular branches of multi branched plants. The other branches grew normally.
