Setting up first tent, Have some questions

Hi,

I am going to start gathering equipment for my first set up and want some critique on my intended items.

4x4x7 tent

I want to run a 1000w is it too much light for the space?

Would the stanley blower pull enough CFMs to keep the entire room at a good temp?

Would I need to air cool?

If it matters I am planning on growing in "hempy buckets"

1000w has a good light foot print of 5x5 at 4x4 thats 62.5 watt per foot a 600 might be better but i dont think a 1000 would be overkill

ive run a 1000w in a tent that size without much of a problem. However you will need it to be an aircooled hood. i had a 6inch fan that pulled 424 from the light and it stayed in the optimum range. good luck

How did you have the ducting plumbed?

Is it possible to only have the exhaust side of the enclosed hood vented out side of the tent so that the air cooling the light is actually the exhaust for the whole tent?

Think:

Exterior exhaust<light ducting<aircooled hood<interior of tent<fresh air vent.

my tent had passive intake in the bottom so i did just what you are talking about. i pulled from the tent into the light into fan into scrubber. the passive intakes allowed me to do this. i hope you understand what im saying sorry i partied a little hard for the holiday ha.

I understand ya, That is exactly what I wanted to do. I am on a budget and did not want to buy 2 fans yet.

50 watts and up per sq ft - and 4x4 is 16sqft,
so:
(1000watts)/(16sqft)= 62.5 watts/sqft
(600watts)/(16sqft)= 37.5 watts/sqft

conclusion: your planning on getting the right light. i might suggest that you get a ballast that does both me and hps or a dual ballast for future-proofing.

I just need to get up and running soon, after the first go round I will be buying another tent and a MH light set to go with it.

I run a 4x4 homebox with a 1k watt light(no ac hood) and 600 cfm 8 inch fan. The hombox stays about 8-9 degrees above room temp which is perfect for my setup
