Ah, Troy Smith. Another Heisman Trophy winning QB who has not done much in the pros. He has some mobility. Should he run the Wildcat?
I want an NFL team to just go balls out and sign 3-4 'mobile' QB's and run the Cat full time. If one gets injured, you plug in the next one. QB's who can run are a dime a dozen; there's probably a ton of them sitting by their phones during the NFL season, just waiting for a call.

Larry Johnson got a 3 yr contract with the Redskins, worth as much as 12 mil w/ incentives. Another former 'best RB in the league' who's now looking to be a platoon RB.
LJ's best years came when the KC O-line was the best run-blocking line in the league. When Willie Roaf retired in 2006, that marked the beginning of the end to KC's running game, which saw Priest Holmes and Larry Johnson lead the league in rushing and rush TD's...
The 'Skins O-line has been hit by injuries and was subpar last year; who's going to block for Portis and Johnson this year?

Well, supposedly JaMarcus came to camp noticeably thinner. He didnt look it, from the video I saw of a reporter following his car as he rolled slowly away; still looked full in the face. But they say he's on a prepared meal plan. If he can eat healthy and stay focused, maybe he'll surprise everyone this year.

Gr8, heard the 49er's GM had to take a leave of absence and will probably miss the draft. Is he sick or something?

from what I know.....I heard that he just when threw process of getting divorced in court...so maybe they are giving him a lil time to collect his thoughts....divorced fucks with some peoples minds......but who knows....I hope he dont step down 5 weeks before the draft...he is a good player evaluator...he is the one who pushed for Patrick Willis...but him and singletary bump heads on player personal....I hope he dont leave but if he does lets bring home Eddie D(Eddie Debartolo)

Divorce?
I guess it must be hitting him hard, if he has to leave the GM post a month before the draft.
Hell, part of him should be salivating at all the younger, tighter poon he could have now that he's no longer hitched. I figure as GM of an NFL franchise he should be a millionaire, plus it's a pretty high profile job. He could be plowing all those college interns as soon as the divorce goes through.

What's Eddie De been doing lately, other than growing his family's business? He was never GM of the Niners, was he? Although he certainly had great influence over personnel decisions, much like Jerry Jones and Dan Snyder, only, you know, successful...

That's an interesting website, Gr8. It hasnt been updated in four years, though. Guess the hate died out...

Sack, in the late 90's Ed DeBartolo received 2 years felony probation on a federal charge of failing to report that the LA governor extorted 400K from him in exchange for a casino license.

After that, he subsequently lost control of the NFL franchise to his sister.

Florida had their pro day and supposedly Tim Tebow has a pro-style throwing motion. Whoop de freaking do...

At the NFL Scouting Combine Tebow only scored a 22 on the Wonderic test. LOL!

Although I'm not especially a big fan or believer in the test, it does have some worth.

Bradford, McCoy, and Clausen all scored higher than Tebow.

I'm curious to see how this years QB's in the draft hold-up in the NFL with 300+ pound Steroid-Monster's thrashing them about?

I*have doubts about Bradford's shoulder, and if McCoy was unable to play in the BCS Championship Game after the "Fluffy-Bunny Hit" he took in the 1st QT against Bama, both will have short NFL career's.

22 is surprisingly low for Tebow. He seemed more intelligent than that to me, at least from his interviews.

I think the hit on McCoy was pretty flukey; he's taken a lot harder shots than that in his college career. Just one of those things...

Bradford also hurt his shoulder when he landed awkwardly on it; he hurt it again when he came back too soon, I think.

Hopefully both those guys will have an opportunity to show what, if anything, they can do in the NFL, without injury being an excuse...

I believe Bradford scored a 35/36? Which is extremely high in the Woneric World. Mccoy & Clausen scored only a few points above Tebow.

The hit on McCoy was indeed strange to say the least. The kid took much more abuse throughout the regular season, and managed to stay healthy.

So many high-draft QB's never really seem to live-up to their full potential & expectations in the NFL, however, I really feel Bradford has the size & ability to become a quick impact player for some team. St.Louis, Cleveland, and several others teams could put Bradford to work real fast.

There's talk that Bradford will be taken #1 overall by the Rams. Not bad for a kid lightly recruited out of high school...
And that Gerald McCoy, his Oklahoma DL teammate, will be taken over Suh, the all-world Nebraska lineman. Which I think is complete BS, because Suh ate up everyone put in front of him the last two years, but what do i know?

Cmon sack, it's not that bad. Other than his first round picks, he actually drafts fairly decently, I think.
Although Sandler would sell a lot of tickets...

I know its not that bad, BUT it really is that bad... lol baba we have been the losingest not a word team in the nfl this last decade... thats bad.. 5 wins seasons for quite awhile now it is a hard pill to swallow, especially as competitive as i am.. lol.. But ill keep pressin forward.. We just need team commitment and each individual to be accountable for themselves.. If each does their own job the rest will take care of itself that being TEAM.. raiders havent had that concept down for sometime now.. peace n pufs..

Sack: yeah, an NFL record seventh consecutive 11-loss season has got to have Raider Nation wondering if it's ever going to end. But in this day and age of parity, it's common for bad teams to become good and vice versa. You never know: everyone's a playoff contender in 2010. I'm still kind of pulling for JaMarcus, because I love a good redemption story, so we'll see if he gets his stuff together.
And Al Davis.. well, he can't live forever, can he? Unless he's drinking the blood of baby unicorns to stave off Death...

Gr8: It'll be interesting to see how Bradford and McCoy turn out. McCoy seems like a good guy, unafraid to answer the tough questions. Bradford will probably get a chance to start sooner.

http://sportsillustrated.cnn.com/20...3/23/nfl.draft.marijuana/index.html?eref=sihp

This is a link to an interesting article on the rise of marijuana use among college football players. Almost one third of projected first rounders were flagged by their college for mj use. It's a fairly balanced look at how the NFL is dealing with this issue; most personnel people agree it's not a big deal (Percy Harvin and DeSean Jackson are two recent first round stars who had mj use in their college background) but the league still considers it harshly. MJ use will land a player in the NFL's drug-testing program, further positive tests lead to game suspensions, even one year bans a la Ricky Williams.
That's what happens when you have a sports league that gets billions in advertising dollars from the alcohol industry (Coors, Bud, Miller, etc).

Go Sox!

baseball pitooey.. wrong thread.. :D ... sorry been crazy busy at work ill get caught up in next coupla days.. Yea babA lots of L's on the raider nation.. I wish J russ would get his crap together.. i to like to see those kinda stories, BUT from his interviews he seems VERY self centered. And to me that means there is an i in team in his mind... So he will never be able to command respect and lead his team cos people can see that a mile away... All the interviews last year, when teammates were asked about his leadership. And if they think he needs to still be in at QB were all answered with dancing shoes on... if ya know what i mean.. So it will be interesting to see how we do... So brady quinn is a bronco now huh...? wowzerz lets see how he does over there they are no cleveland... it might work.. Anyhow peace n pufs..
