Lotsa good bands mentioned... I'll throw in some more Amerikan bands. Naked Raygun, Jawbreaker, and early Replacements. Hot Snakes were fucking great.

If it ain't punk then what the hell was Captain Beefheart?

The Cramps recording shot in the psych hospital. Saw them with Iron Butterfly!! in 1980 in Dallas. It ended with the singer pouring drinks on people's heads because they wouldn't dance. Crowd beat the hell out of him.
