Hola kiwigreen,

The Malawi girl is outdoors, but keep in mind that she was forced flower so that is why she looks this way in September. As mentioned above, 5 more days so October 7 brings her to 13 weeks of flower...definitely Sativa:)

What's your predictions for the finish date? looks very far along for the end of september.

Hola Painfull,

Thanks for tuning in and I would say the Malawi girl I have will yield on the high side of medium. The buds are exceptionally dense for a sativa, and comparable to my Maduro. If I had let her go longer in veg I am sure she would be a high Yielder for sure. Lucky for me I made beans, so I can run her again next summer;)

Looks like she will yield well. how many plants did you run for pheno hunt? or did you just chuck out a single female?. Next year you should try to find the purple malawi pheno(5%). Can't wait for the harvest, please share dried pics and report of this beauty as these isn't many on here.

Have you had any rain test her yet? I hear the malawis can handle rain really well. All the best for the rest of the grow mate

Hola kiwigreen,

Yes she is looking good on the yield department. My sample population was small, I started 6 seeds got two males and four females. Of those there was a well structured standout, but next year I will do a run of 20+ to see what I find.

Funny you should mention the purple pheno, because the girl I selected does in fact have some purple calyxes, as well as minor purple stem stripes. I guess I got lucky and happy I made beans cause the male had purple stripes on the stem as well:woohoo:

Yeah malawis have massive yields sometimes, some guy grew holy smokes version of malawi and ended up with 3lbs excluding a lot of bud rot loses too.

4 females out of 6 is very lucky, and you are extremely lucky to get a minor purple pheno in a male and female!. You will have good chances of getting the full on purple pheno next round. Did you freeze any of the pollen? that will be very valuable pollen for future crosses.

I plan on making some f1 malawi crosses to a taskenti, pck and a panama red pheno.

Hola Ace Fans,

I took the girl down today at 13 weeks...she looked nice and ripe. Here are some shots showing a few of the purple calyxes I mentioned:

I will give a smoke report after drying and a quick cure. She smells like old-school Montreal red-wrap Hash...yum!
