raising plants up to lights

I have a 4 600w air-cooled set up with about 30 plants flowering at a time. I can't be moving the lights up and down or else I can't move around the room and manage the ducts, so the lights are stationary. Right now I have the plants on pallets resting on cinderblocks, but they are still not close enough to the light. What is the easiest way to raise and then lower the plants as they grow?

But then every time the plants grow and I have to lower the plants, I have to take all of them off the pallett, remove the bricks, etc. I used pallets because that way mosts spills and dirt drop between the slats to the ground where I can easily clean them up.

Screw some eyelets in your pallet ( or a 4 by 8 sheets of ply wood) . Screw some eyelets in the ceiling. Attach chains and you be able to raise lower your table with ease and won't have to deal with piles of cinderblocks.

Sounds like a good idea. Does everyone else just raise and lower the lights along with all that ducting needed for the aircooling and then navigate around the lights and ducts which are at belly level?

i would say yes. most people have the lights so they can move them. just a simple step in planning so that way you can get to the plants while the lights are down and no ducting interference. making the ducting a bit longer helps too - more room to move the lights. good luck

Individual milk crates, one for each plant. You should be able to stack 3 on top of each other.
That way you lower the plants, 12 inches at a time, times 3.

i move my lights up and down (easy)

and boost shorties up, to keep a nice even canopy.

i use whatever available to life em. usually an empty pot turned upside down

What about a combination of the two methods? Put the lights on Yo-Yos so you can easily move them up and down as well as elevating the plants a little and leveling them off as mentioned before.

I move my lights...have them all on chains.

Seems to me that a milk crate, while being light and convenient, would only allow moving in 12" increments. A finer adjustment would be nice.

Now, here's a different approach to the situation. Not useful for this grow but perhaps the next one. Go SCROG so you don't need to move the lights or plants.

you could prolly move your lights, even thou it seems tricky, you prolly could move them. way easyer than buying 60 milk crates
