Radiation mutations.. well they are natural. Radiation plays a crucial roll in evolution on this planet, and probably the universe and/or multiverse!

My opinion... don't mess with it. All the plants we have now as a result of natural processes work great, they don't need improving. We need to improve out methods of cultivation, not our cultivars.

I say nay... but if I had to choose one, genetic engineering, or radiation mutations... Ill take the latter...

HERE some literature regarding radiation induced mutations on hemp done by W. Hoffmann and E. Knapp in 1940. As it turned out, it wasn't a useful endeavour...

What can we do at home without using radiation? As Chimera said, use chemicals such as EMS (if you can get your hands on them... or rather your gloves).

The main interest nowadays in such random mutations is increased understanding of plant physiology rather than crop improvement because most non-silent mutations are deleterious ('know-outs').
