I just heard the sad news this morning.
Johnny Winter passed away yesterday on July 16, 2014 at age 70..
Johnny was one of the great roll and roll guitarists.
He had a style entirely his own, and in my book, he epitomized "Texas Blues Rock and Roll"
I saw Johnny once, back in the '70's, and was blown away by the show and his performance..

R.I.P. Johnny.... You and your music will be missed man....

I saw Johnny & Edgar many many times back in NYC, from small clubs to MSG; they almost always showed up together even if only one was mentioned as the nights performer. Gonna find some time to break out those CDs tonight and groove on some true American blues.......

rest in peace

RIP Mr. Winter. Nobody like ya, never will be again.

He was an incredible guitar player, as has been mentioned (hell, he's got the moniker "legend" following his name), but he was quite the showman as well. He also looked quite like a freak, too.... one of my friends couldn't handle how he looked when we went to see him in concert this one time, he thought Johnny was the personification of EVIL.... but this friend ended up going a bit nutso and became overly religious later in life, so I guess that was just a precursor.

RIP Johnny. Rock 'N Roll heaven just got a new headliner...
