i had an old water trough i needed drainage in for tomatoes a couple o years back...
busted out the .22lr pistol and put 36 in her right quick.
not only functional but fun too!
instead of drilling or puncturing (or shooting) holes...
use a heat gun (its useful in hash making too) and heat the sides of the plastic container. with a philips screwdriver, push the hot plastic in slowly until the screwdriver comes out the other side. this way you will get an indentation very similar to the airpots. you can do some going outwards as well (from inside-out).
you can drill a hole 2 inches from the bottom of a bucket and combine it with the above method so you may have hempy meets airpot.
well that just sounds like fun I have to say.
gardening and marksmanship don't have to be mutually exclusive.
it was a .22Wouldn't they have to be in that case? The plan wouldn't really work if all 36 only made an entry/exit hole the size of a quarter.
Fiberglass cloth, screen cloth, rubberized shelf liner. Fiberglass is less prone to having roots grow through and holds up well though it may need a few holes itself. The next time I prepare a tote for growing I'm going to drill or melt 2" holes around the sides and line the inside with vinyl window screening.
