Well every day I clean my bong with ISO and salt, and everyday I look and there's just chunks of bud and burnt bud all inside the water and in the diffusor. At least half gram.
I need to put a screen in the bowl to stop this, and perhaps make cleaning less...needed? Often?
Anyway, is it wrong to put a screen in my bong? Will it taste bad? Taste at all?

A glass screen or ashcatcher should solve your problem with no impact (except a positive one-AC) on performance.

I would personally avoid brass/metal screens.

you can get glass screens too, not really "screens" but that's what they're called

I dont see whats wrong with brass screens... Theres not difference.. Right now Im using my roor slide with a nail in it. It keeps almost ALL the ash/bud out of the water..

nail? i guess i'd have to be there. yeah i ended up cutting a brass screen into a tiny circle so it just fits over the hole - this one is the lower profile bowl...not the normal Roor long one..it's like stumpy.

brass/steel ones go bad after a while...the worst thing that happens to the glass ones is that someone ash's it into an ashtray and it gets lost

I'm a big fan of the steel screens from VaporBrothers for their vaporizer. They are at least twice the thickness of most screens and the edges never fray. The 11mm screens fit my bubbler and my vape, and I use the 10mm screens for my spoon. The only time I change them is if I happen to lose one. I just clean them by holding a flame to them until they glow red and then dropping them in some water or alcohol.

That happens ALL the time :D

I like steel screens for hash/hash oil... hash oil I double up usually.

They are a must for concentrates imo

glass screens get caked in the resin just like metal ones, so you do need a "poker", if you will, to pop it out sometimes. get a pack of 5 of 10 and whenever one gets "caked", just throw it in your stash box. when youre on your fifth or ninth one, just boil the other ones, and voila, you have brand new screens.

Zero screen for me ya'll. I just snip some sticky stinky bud, roll in a little ball like a big booger (sorry). Then I stick in the bowl of a dry bong ...fire it up and suck nice and steady. I use just enough for one good hit so the person on the left gets a fresh one. Trick is a fairly loose ball and don't suck too hard. Nothing to lose, no dirty screen and no bong water to stink or spill.

Peace

yeah that works when you're alone, hazecrazy! but think about when a bunch of idiots are like "sweet, what's a roor? where's the carb?? lol" and then just pull it through anyway haha

whether you use them often or not, glass screens for a glass on glass bong are very handy

This stuff might have been mentioned, didn't read the other topics:

I love glass screens for bowls. They do get caked up in resin eventually, but the cleaning is easy and they're reusable. One guy mentioned they get lost easily and this is so true, and will probably happen if you get one. Get stupid high, and dump it out, thinking nothing of it.

I like metal screens too, but they do get clogged eventually and sometimes they don't always fit nicely into a bowl. But you can find the really small ones that'd fit for your bowl all the time, and you could buy about 100 of them to last you.

I've seen things called ash catchers on bongs that from what I've read do a nice job of keeping gunk out of your water, but I've never tried one.

Buy lots of the glass screens if you decide to use them! I lose alot of them, they are of course recoverable but i refuse to dig through my ashtray for a 2cent glass screen
