I am as profoundly disappointed as anyone else about Obama, but let us forget he promised to respect state rights, and has kind of sort of kept that promise other than big operations over their numbers and so on. In other words Obama is no picnic, but before you Obama-bash and become an idiot and want to vote Republican, remember that it would be far worse under most of them. They would still be fighting all pot med and otherwise, so before you bonehead Obama Bashers (easy but not honorable to kick someone when they are down) go voting for the enemy, think of that!

Kind of sort of? So letting the DEA raid dozens of CA dispensaries is respecting states rights? Okay I guess. Plenty of states passed medical MJ laws under Bush, so the same argument could be made.

Yes, let's give Obama another chance, maybe he'll have an epiphany and suddenly have conviction about marijuana legalization because he has a D next to his name and he used it to buy the stoner vote first time around.

No disrespect to anyone here, but if you vote for Obama again (and I know many of you will regardless of what anyone says) you are being taken for a RIDE like a battered wife crawling back to an abusive husband.

Wake up: Banks, big business and military contractors have Congress and media in their back pockets and are a bulk of the money and influence behind presidential elections. They are all about consolidating power and money and could give a rat's ass about legalizing MJ--there are much bigger fish to fry like bailing out their banker buddies with taxpayer money and continuing the wars and keeping DC the same. That means a DEA with the same power if not more. Now we are rushing to bail out Europe with US dollars. WTF, hello, that's my money you're giving away! The issue transcends the political parties and the faster people realize this the better. Both teams serve the same masters, just like Obama, which is why he hasn't done diddly about the drug war or any other war and we have expanded the wars elsewhere. He lied to get elected and he'll lie again to get elected.

Bush, Perry, Obama, Romney... they are all just different variations on the same horrible tune this country's been singing for decades. The only person who recognizes this and would actually try to do something about it is Ron Paul. He is an entirely different song altogether, and a pretty darn good one. You may not agree with his economics but his anti-war and anti-drug views are SPOT ON. This is the last chance we have to vote for someone who actually stands for something we care about and if smokers and growers vote for Obama again I don't know what to say.

I like Ron Paul.

Observation:

Obama has tried to do a lot of things that the repubs in congress are completely opposed to, so despite attempting to work with them and compromise, he gets next to nothing done.
Questions:

  • How will Ron Paul pass all of his completely radical ideas in the same political climate?
  • How will Ron Paul even get the nomination when nobody in his party or the media will even take him or his ideas seriously for 5 minutes?
  • How will you vote for someone if they aren't on the ballot?

I'm hoping you have really good answers to these questions, because I'd love to vote for him. But if he's not on the ballot, Obama's gonna get another vote.

Im sorry but to group Obama in the same likes of Perry, Bachman and Romney is just plain fucking ignorant. Romney is already bat shit, but in comparison to the other two he looks like a god damn reincarnation of Albert Einstein.... and the scary thing is Perry is looking like the front runner for the GOP.

Obama hasnt done all that we thought he would, but you cant dismiss the fact that we have seen a massive proliferation of MMJ during his presidency.... have we had a few raids, yea. But compared to Bush's sweeping raids in California ... he looks like a mj freedom fighter.

Id vote for Ron Paul - but he has about as much of a chance as Cheech & Chong running for president. So my vote is going for Obama. If for nothing else, to piss off all the fucking clowns in the tea party who have littered the back of their trucks with anti-obama stickers like this dumb prick::

Yeah well I like the anti-Obama bumper stickers and I LOVE the Tea Party. Obama is the worst President in modern history with complete failure even using his own measurements. Just because you jam a few bills down the American peoples throats with the blessing of the very liberal media doesnt mean you are a success. Unfortunately he hasnt been able to meet any of his goals with his policies. The reason is they were ill concieved. The truth is Obama is toast and wont be re-elected because he is an utter failure by all measurements.
Ron Paul is great but obviously doesnt have enough mainstream support to actually get elected. Also, how can die hard Obama supporters be FOR Ron Paul when he wants to dismantle everything Obama has "achieved"? He thinks Obamas policies are completely wrong. Maybe re-assess why you would support Obaba at all if you are for Ron Paul because they are polar opposite animals. I think we have some one issue voters here (Canna) and sorry but thats just ridiculous. On top of that Obama fooled them on that one he isnt supporting the cannabis movement. He is hindering it. There are obviously some very confused people running their keyboards here. Since Obama is pretty much despised by all except his very loyal far left base, it is a foregone conclusion we will be picking from the Republicans for our next Pres. My opinion is that after the rogue congress and executive branch that the Democrats have seated this session, the people will not be trusting the (D) for the forseeable future. Im pretty GLAD about that.

It's a knot that is not going to be untied, it will have to be cut.

Neither side is saying anything different than the other. Just arguing over who controls who.
No one is speaking about freedom, and there is no discussion including details about policy.

It starts on payday when I get taxed on money I haven't even earned yet. It gets worse from there.

Then there are all of these people screaming about the other side.... both sides are wrong.

We are getting it equally from both lying sides. Period.

The comments presented so far reveal resignation and defeat a year before the election.
That's the the final problem. Once we all start agreeing "whats the use" we are lost.

Has no one paid attention to Ron Paul's son's politics? Like father like son they say.... the apple don't fall far from the tree... NO FUCKING THANKS!

Anyone Ignorant enough to vote someone in based on 1 policy is a moron. Like Anti abortion people voting republican for that one specific reason, when there family's are starving with no $$.

Anyone expecting "change" in 2 years time is also clueless.

I think the bailouts of the auto companies are one of the bailouts that truly worked.

If you don't think so, then your missing something.

I have seen change, and I'm in one of the worst hit states in the country, and even worse location in my state. Yet work is far better now then it was 2 years ago.

Only problem we face here is republican governor + AG trying to rape people of all their rights.

Taking away funding for education is fiscally responsible... hmm I think the exact opposite is true.
We took 1.8billion from the working man and gave 1.8billion to big corporations here... that's FUCKED UP!

Politifact is just another source of information, and their statements must be judged by the evidence they provide - same standard I apply to blogs.

In this case, they provided plenty of evidence that the idea presented was false. They even have the guy who came up with it saying he was wrong.

In the case of the post you linked criticizing Politifact, (not that I need to defend a Pulitzer Prize winning website,) well I don't see a very good argument presented there. Being the CFO of a company doesn't entitle a person to claim they created jobs. That would be something the CEO or owner of the company could claim, but definitely not the guy who just handles the finances. And the next bit about a politician insisting abortions were "required" in a piece of legislation that merely "permitted" them, I mean come on, the author of that piece is just defending some anti-abortion spin artist who got caught twisting words.

Ok. I'll reassess it. Do I want Perry to run this country? NOPE. Do I want Romney to run this country? NOPE. Do I want Bachman to run this country? NOPE.

Who does that leave?

Oh yeah, Obama.

There are obviously some very confused people running their keyboards here.
Pot, meet kettle.

Since Obama is pretty much despised by all except his very loyal far left base, it is a foregone conclusion we will be picking from the Republicans for our next Pres.
Many of us that are NOT his "very loyal far left base" (including myself) do not so much despise him as we feel let down by him. He hasn't lived up to his campaign promises. But how many of them actually do?

If the choice is between being beaten by a wiffle ball bat or a billy club, I'm going to "vote" for wiffle ball. That doesn't mean wiffle ball is my favorite. (I'd prefer not to be beaten at all.) But if I have to choose, I'm going to choose the one that's less likely to inflict damage. Can you understand that?

My opinion is that after the rogue congress and executive branch that the Democrats have seated this session, the people will not be trusting the (D) for the forseeable future. Im pretty GLAD about that.
Which of the GOP candidates do you think is likely to win, and why will you support them? How do you think they will change Obama's policies on cannabis for the better, and what is your evidence that they will do so?

(I am limiting my response to the subject of cannabis because that is the only way we will be able to continue this discussion. As soon as this veers into "general politics" or name calling, this thread will be shut down.)

Mike Gravel, a democrat from Alaska who's now retired, and a great man, brought the pentagon papers to the courts, and helped stopped the Vietnam War.

Not Mike Gravel, it was Daniel Ellsberg.

Red & Blue illusions that people still buy into continue the divide. Just sad.

When people finally stop turning to 'strong leaders' to solve their problems they'll start actually solving some of their problems.

when i hear this i cant help but think its a total race thing. i know you all scream you love black people and were just evil liberal socialist commies for even suggesting that there may be a more underlying hatred towards the barack other than his policies... because worst president in modern history? are you fucking kiddin me? im no obama cheerleader - but didnt GWB start 2 wars while giving massive tax cuts to the uber rich ultimately creating the largest recession in decades? wasnt ol bushy the one who enacted the patriot act, a direct attack on american citizens rights to privacy entitled by the constitution? wasnt it him and his cronies who spent 8 years and wasted trillions of dollars fighting "terrorist" while losing thousands of soldiers lifes while finding NO wmd's or bin laden?

how is that worst than obama? what about regan and nixon who proliferated the attack on americans rights via the war on drugs? at least old ronald taxed the wealthiest of the wealthy....

so what makes obama the WORST president ever? im really curious - because he hasnt done much (not that he could since republicans are acting like a spoiled little shit in a grocery store whos mommy wouldnt buy them a candy bar so they are going to stomp their feet and scream and cause a fucking tantrum).

so please enlighten me oh wise tea party. why is obama so fucking terrible? hes been pretty uneventfull....

oh besides the fact that he murdered osama bin laden... but hey hes still an non-american born muslim terrorist with a scary name like obama hussein and hes HALF BLACK!!!

continue lighting your torches and filling up your busted ass vehicles with lame ass bumper stickers while obama's approval rises over 40% and he clowns the GOP in the next election...

...and im just saying you obviously have no idea what your talking about. Obama's current approval rating: 43% with inclination to be to 44% in the next few days (SOURCE: CBC)

George W.'s final approval rating 22% (SOURCE: CBS)

>>>sure is easy to just say anything. and thats the problem so much misinformation on the tea party / gop sides by people who just simply dont bother to check any facts and will just fiercly accept any bullshit they hear as long as it cosigns to their beliefs.

Hey obama is the worst non american muslim born terrorist with the lowest approval rating of any president ever ever and wants to kill my elderly mother with his obamacare death panels? Must be true because i heard some guy say it and he has a OBUMMER sticker on his 1994 chevy pick up and a "dont tread on me" t shirt...he MUST be right...
