So are there no FEDS in this equation?I mean WTF, it would be a misdemeanor to grow 5,000 plants for Christ sake, why would a cash cropper not like that?

Of course there are feds, but they can't arrest everyone.
This has much more of a chance of support than legalization (that's such a dirty word, don't you know?)

Here's the idea I had. Instead of attempting to fully legalize in 2012, simply hold a vote on a proposition that is very simple. "No person shall be jailed for more than 6 months, nor be subject to probation, parole, or state supervision for longer than 12 months for any non-violent marijuana offense with the exception of distribution to minors or cultivating where the grower doesn't have permission (public land, someone else's private land)."
And guess what? 6 months jail sentence is a misdemeanor. Once this takes effect, there would be no justification for spending all the money that's spent now to round up a bunch of low level offenses.
Trust me on this guys! I've thought about it, and I can't quit thinking about it.
But alas, I know, that probably no one who runs that show over there is going to listen to me...they have their agenda's and egos to feed....but, if in the off chance one of you has a connection, will you send my idea on?
have you seen the way some of these people treat pro legalization folks?
some people just don't wanna get flamed to hell and gone on their original names.
you saw how the prohibition supporters acted on the 19 threads.
naw what we really need is an army with light sabers
Many things to assess here.We need to discuss how to hammer out a REALISTIC while still not-too-restrictive solution that will appease the "Save the Children" crowd while relaxing the draconian measures that are currently wielded at us.

I have to agree with Green that a hit in the wallet is far better than 5 years of jailhouse pork in the poop-chute.
But that's just IMHO. Maybe because I'm gettin' kinda old and a bit set in my ways...
