Whats the scientific basis of using IR (actually far red 740nm) for waking plants up? It switches plant to sleep mode. To wake up plants you need <700nm. Using ir for starting is nothing but bro-sciense.

Far IR should be dumped, it does nothing but maybe add a little stretch to the plants, and i'm not sure UV LED's do much either, 2 to 4 per strip. I like the look of the 320w, as that should do a 4 x 4 pretty well. Still stuck in my old was using 600w HPS, and now i've seen LED's get a shitload better over the last 7 years, i think i'm ready to make that leap. It would save me £1000's a year i pay for power.

There is no basis these Chinese light companies just say what ever they think will make people buy their lights!
Shame most people believe it because it's in their advertising material just like above!

That's why we have people like Shane from migro and his YT channel who know what there doing. I sent a few emails to some chinese companies to try and blag a free light, don't ask you'll never know.

Spectral debate aside: I like the separate channels, but if the UV and IR channels are intended to be run for only part of the lights on period this means you have to manually adjust them on and off separately every single day. 3 channels, 3 dimmers, and 3 built in timers is the only solution.

IR and UV are just on or off, the dimmer only dims the white and red if there are a lot of those, but mainly dim just the white light. and 1 timer is only needed. these phlizon lights just over complicate things.
