All the pumps I have bought, included a check valve for each outlet.

2 gallons LOL. One time I messed up draing my rez and forgot to put the hose in the toilet. 200 gallons over the whole basement. I call it cleaning the floor (laminate flooring) from the underneath :D

My shop vac stays busy

haha, ya it could have been a hell of a lot worse. thankfully my insessive checking of my pH alerted me to the problem. :joint:

With 5 gallon buckets, cool water temps and room temp that doesn't get over 75F... my ph fluctuates from 5.9-6.2 over the course of 3-7 days. I'm using Sensi GROW (why are you using bloom?) 2 part., and GH ph down granular.

I would imagine it's evaporation and o2 messing with your ph.

a .3 swing in 3-7 days would be awesome ninfan77, im dealing with .2 a day though. Why am I using Sensi Bloom?........ :nono: good question,.. should I be using sensi grow? I don't know its what the guy at the hydro store sold me once upon a time, told me it was good for either soil or hydro so I've been using it ever since. Mind you I'm 12/12 from seed under a 400W HPS with this grow so again should I be using grow not bloom? which is for what time? plants seem to be liking it so far as the pics confirm but you tell me.

Hello,

do you use plain water as a reference for your Ph - meter?

I have to do this with my Hanna Ph - meter, no matter how carefully or how often I calibrate it. My tap water is 6.3, the meter reads anything between 6.0 - 7.2 during one day. One reference bucket of plain tapwater helps me to keep myself in the ballpark, sort of.

I also use the drop tester. My first Hanna told me my tap is 8.2...

sounds like you either have fluctuating tap water or a faulty meter to me. Mine doesn't flux that much. Store bought distilled water is always 0-3ppm's and ph is always around 6.35

PH and ec fluctuation is normal.
The figures you give correspond to a healthy feeding plant.
The ph fluctuation between 5.5 and 6.2 in hydro is actually good for your plants. It prevents lockouts.
You also should change your reservoir every week or one and a half week. This is most important to keep ec and ph between 5.5 and 6.2.
If you have a large system ,feeding them the exact quantity might be difficult till you really know the needs of the plant your using .Grow beeing exponantial.
Using ph down or up is no big deal as long as it's not disproportioned.

PEACE
