mmmm taco...... you've made me hungry now. Off to get some pizza.
On a serious note hope you sort out your problem, sorry I can't help. Give more details like nutrients used/changed, temp, distance from lights and wattage (even better fill out the sick plant form) and am sure someone will be able to sort it for you.
You should maybe direct this one to the infirmary.

Also, I looked around and although I didn't see that particular leaf deformity being caused by pH, many other deformities are common.
Good luck
In all fairness he's asking a generalized question about PH not about a specific plant. To answer the question an out of range PH can cause the ratio in which the plant is able to uptake nutrients to change, this can mean the plant takes up too much of 1 nute or too little of another. A taco sounds like eagle claws or rams horn, hard to tell w/o pics of what you meant
8 is way outta range you shouldnt go above 6.1. Notice how in the 8PH range N is in more abundance relative to the other elements.
does it look like this:
thats "eagle claw", look at the new growth the margins curl under. rams horn
depending on how far the progression of the problem has advanced, you could get symptoms of a "deficiency" even after it is corrected. twisted leafs in general are also a symptom of PH out of wack
lysol, that is not the kind of bend my plants are showing. I have no camera to take a picture of them. The leaves are folding in on them selves, so that the top side of the leaf folds in half on the other top side of the leaf.
Yea, sorry I have no further info, or pictures. Kind of hard to diagnose this without any clues. Also, I have no ppm meter and only the pH drop test kit which is not the most precise. Oh and I don't even have a thermometer/ hygrometer. Sounds like I need to get a move on.
Could be mag. see that leaf in the 1st & 2nd pic? Where it is yellowing at the tip is yellow faded tissue or brown dead tissue? Is it yellowing between the veins while the veins remain green or is it yellowing from the tip back solid.
Yellowing between veins with necrotic spots on the leaf margins can be a symptom of Mag, Since you are hydro you can probably rule out "trying to dissipate water". Honestly aside from that yellowing your plant just looks like its reaching for light which is a good sign, the yellowing could just be a N def.
You both are probably right. The tip is white, not dead. There was probably complete nutrient lock out for a while, due to having a pH of 8 which is way too high obviously. I corrected the pH to 5.5.
