Some strains just work for certain people and when you find your keeper you become comfortable with it & the effects. I sometimes smoke other buds but in general stick to Sweet Tooth or a few crosses of it I have made for myself with related genetics. The medicinal effects it gives me are what I need and the high feels good so it's not a matter of being bored ever really. It's a matter of what works and it still gets me as high as I need to be in 2 or 3 tokes so at least with this strain it does not seem to fade in it's effect when smoked long term. I have heard some strains do lose their effect on people but I do not feel this is one of them plus if you experiment with harvest times the buzz can be very different from the same exact strain. Thankfully if I ever need something else there is a good variety to choose from around here, it is of course the Spice of Life.
I'm a huge fan of Sweet Tooth myself man. I grew it outside a few years ago and ended up with around 12 zips. Stuff lasted me and my gf a long time and we were smoking it daily. It's one of the few strains I've smoked that I don't get a tolerance to when smoking it everyday, very peaceful and serene high from the two phenos we had. I find the high from that is a lot like my current favorite, Kandy Kush (OG Kush x Trainwreck), I also don't get a tolerance to that strain and it has that perfect balance of super soaring sativa and warm comfy body buzz. Been smoking it daily for the last year. For me Kandy is my keeper, along with OG Kush of course, those two just make me really happy. I'm currently growing out some bitchin sativas and oldschool strains, so it's highly likely I'll find a new keeper and be in love with it for the next year or two, maybe forever. Most likely will be between the NL5xHaze and the Grinspoon.
Guess if I had to only grow one or two strains, as I said it would be OGK and Kandy Kush, but really, like so many have said, Variety is the spice of life, guys. I really think it would be super hard for me to commit to growing only one or two. If you know what to look for and know your genetics you should be finding new killer strains to try out all the time without a problem. Not being able to find something as good as your favorite just means you're lookin in the wrong places imo. I have several strains on my top list that are tied for first place and find new ones often.
I am growing for myself so yield only matters that I have enough until the next harvest. I prefer having plants finish at different times so that harvest is staggered out also. I have never run a single strain grow yet so I can't really compare but I know from when I bought qp's to smoke that I get burnt out on smoking the same strain everyday.
Totally agree here, I'm all for quality over quantity as I grow for myself. Staggered ftw! It's great to harvest something and then a few weeks later harvest something totally new and different. Got a mix of like six strains going too, sativas, indicas, some of the sativas take 100+ days or more.
