I have been running an ozone generator in my grow room and it seems to me that it has affected my yield badly.
anyone have same or similar problem?
everything is perfect with conditions .
I ran one years ago that was far too powerful for the room size. The room already had temp issues but plants were healthy - The first time I used it I came home from work and it had caused brown spots on the leaves and desiccated the plants - they were four weeks into flowering and were completely destroyed. If it can do this I suppose it can damage yields in lesser amounts.
You don't want to breath to much O3. It is used to clean up the exhaust. Should be the last part before it exits the room to the outside. Don't let it blow onto the plants or in an inclosed room.. Attach it inline to the exhaust after the exhaust fan.
If it is a negitive ion generator (air cleaner like green air) set it on low to clean the air in the house. Adjust for smell and the last weeks of flower if necessary. Replace the plates every few years and take them out and clean them with water once a year. Breathing to much ozone is not good.
Yeah ozone (O3) is not the form of oxygen that living beings need. It has quite a few downsides to it, when in high concentrations like this. It can cause all sorts of problems related to your plants' stomata. Like someone already said, the ozone should be after the plants but before the outside, in your airflow path. Don't provide it directly to the room that the plants are in.
If you're using ozone to control smell you need to run it on a timer. I've worked with ozone for years in restoration. 30 min every other hour is more than enough and should not damage plants or yields. The only reason I use one in my tent is due to buying used. And don't want any molds till I build my new room.
I was always told that running ozone inside a room is very bad for everything including yields, aroma and flavor. Should be used as a middleman between your room and outside exhaust, not actually inside the grow room. At least that's what I was always told.
i'm sorry for barging in like this, but i have a question:
would a small ozone generator from china, the 12V 'car-plug' kind, work for a PC box micro grow? It i set it up at the exhaust point...
Would it be too much? too little? How much mg of ozone one needs for a small box like that? would i have it on all the time or would i need a timer?
