This is the fastest pheno and the smallest plant of the bunch. For 31 days flowering this top looks to be early but nearing ripe fast. I estimate this plant could be taken as early as 40 days and I may do just that.

Any of you ever tried water curing? Sounds wild. :yoinks:

Other SB3 plants at same days flowering...this one is fast too.

This one looks to take a bit longer but its one of the real nice phenos. BOG

Check out the new vape HumboltHigh just sent me for Christmas!!! :D

Thanks man,

I would say a little over an oz is all as it is the runt of the 6 females but we will see what average yields are from seed with the 6. BOG

Suppose I'll chime in for ya BOG, I've tried water curing. I wasn't impressed. It did everything that people were claiming, i.e. no Chlorophyl harshness, smooth smoke, still get just as high, and in just 5-7 days. However it totally destroyed smell and taste. Now while Ultimately I usually smoke cause I want to get high I do want to really enjoy my herb and smell and taste are two BIG factors there. I reckon that you can certainly afford to give it a try with a couple of buds though and see for yourself eh?

I'll drop back in after class and lay down the basic scientifics of water curing as I understand them If you like but right now I gtg.

Oh yea, beautiful plants too!

Thanks but its really simple sounding actually and if people want to know I will see how it works for me. Some proponents say the pot comes out twice as strong per hit and that seems a grand claim. But some good people like it. BOG

Water curing works... But I don't do it with water, per-se. I don't have much time right now...

This is what I do, but not to all my buds...

Leave the half-dry buds inside a sealed container for several days in a warm place, then open the container to let the water vapor out. Seal it and go again. The container's edges will get wet with condensation - DON'T get scared, it's supposed to be that way - that's the water needed for the process.

The process itself is all about breaking down the starches left in the bud from harvest.

My Jamaican friend (real deal 50+yr old bushman from St. Ann) told me about a way to dry buds in a plastic bag. They just seal the buds in a plastic bag, hang it in a tree, then return when they're dry. I think this bag is like a shopping bag, with tiny holes here and there for vapor to force it's way outside - slowly.

He says it's the best smoke you can find anywhere.

I have a nug of grapefruit here that I cured this way. The smoke gets MUCH smoother, but you lose some of the fresh weed flavor.

The increased potency is simply due to the fact that less starch is burning with your THC, and therefore not getting in the way as much. Simple.

I used to fear mold, but if the vapor is allowed to move out every day or two, the bud should be just fine... These conditions are not favorable to all types of mold. gotta run.

Yeah Crazy but even doing it that way damages the taste in my opinion.

That sour bubble clone buddage I sent you tasted pretty good and wasn't too harsh for the potency. It was cured almost like you stated but it wasnt quite as wet when jarred up as you did. I did leave it 3 weeks moist however no condensation was seen.

I think when cured too moist too long the flavor changes and it isnt bad but I prefer it the way I am accustomed to it. Hard to change lifelong tastes but I could get to like vaping. I just dont buy it being more potent water cured so I have to see for myself.

Thanks for stopping by CC. BOG

Umm, Steel Savage the plants were vegged about 9 weeks before flowering so I didnt mean a month from seed man. :D

The others should at least double the runt easy. BOG

Some of them could go 4 oz... we will see.

Thanks for your opinion BubbleBuddy. Its a matter of taste I suppose and taste is so important to me that it doesnt sound like its for me but I gotta throw a few sour bubble clone buds in the water next time anyways to see.

Sour bubble was rated the best tasting breeders indica in the last 420 cup you know! :joint: BOG 3rd in Breeder Indicas for potency aint bad. :D

As I said that one is the runt but Sour bubble isn't one of my big yielders indoors. It would do best outside actually. BOG

It also does better in hydro.

Yeah Crazy but even doing it that way damages the taste in my opinion.

but wc'ing it ruined the taste completly and the smell also, the high was pretty much the same and the bud turned a dark green color

Yup, which is why I have ONE bud on my desk cured that way  If the bud is harsh due to excess starch, chlorophyll, THEN you might want to go to this extreme to make smokeable herb out of terrible herb. That's what they do to make the Mexi-schwagg smoke alright (better anyhow). Big piles of fermenting marijuana in the sun. THEN they dry it completely and bundle it up for market.

Well twice the potency per hit is a tall tale IMO. As CC said its all about removing starches and chlorphyl, heres how I understand it. Most of us know that THC is primarily fat and alcohol soluble right? hence we cook with butter and use butane for extracting oil. What some might not know is why weed gets tastier and some say more potent with a good cure. The reason is that during the curing period Chlorophyl and starches break down. Chlorophy is supposedly ( and I for one believe it) the biggest contributor to harsh smoke.
So the idea behind water cureing is that Since THC is NOT water soluble you can submerge it and you won't lose your THC into the water. Chlorophyl however is water soluble and within 5-7 days under water nearly all the Chlorophyl will be taken out of your buds and you can pour it down the drain. The downside, IMO, is that many of the pleasant smelling and tasting ketone molecules, especially responsible for fruity aromas and tastes are also water soluble. So while you get to take away the harsh chlorophyl you also have to take away the tastey ketones with it. One other big advantage for stealth concerns is that when your curing buds underwater they don't reek up the place, in fact they don't really smell at all, which can be VERY nice for some growers in teh good ol USA. Now We've gt a few people on this thread that tried it and didn't love it, there are very good growers and stoners that do it every time, to each his own.
That being said here's how I water-cured my buds so that you can give it a try yourself and see how you like it. Once you have cut the buds go ahead and manicure as usual, It's much easier to do when buds are fresh and not sopping wet. Then all you have to do is submerge the buds in a container of water. I used a big bowl. Now for the first day or two the buds will want to float so either tie them to a weight or I just put a plate on top of mine to keep them under the surface. After a dayor two most buds will stay under as they have been taking up water. The gal who taught me how to water cure (sorry I can't remember her name)reccomends changing the water every day or two since the Chlorophyl etc. build up in the water and then they don't escape your buds as well. My water turned pretty green after 2 days. Try to change the water as calmly as you can with minimal agitation, your THC isn't gonna dissolve but those trichromes can still get knocked off! After 5-7 days under water you are ready to dry the bud back out. Take the buds out of the water and hang them up as per standard. Make sure that you have good airflow since soaking wet buds can certainly fall victim to mold, but only if they dry too slow. I ended up putting a fan straight on my buds and in just a few hours they were bone dry. In fact they had shrunk in size quite a bit but were rock hard and gave a nice slow burn that I really prefer, more hits per bowl in my case, but less bowls.

Thats what I know, or think I know, about water curing. If you've never done it I reccomend taking a couple buds next harvest and giving it a try, you never know you might just love it.
peace love

My review of the man and the machine...

My review of the man and the machine...

I am honored to be called friend of HumboltHigh, his wife and his buddy too. HH is more than generous. He is kind and shows his love openly. For a big tattooed guy that you would want by your side in a dark alley this man is a sweetheart. He is gonna do me a tattoo when I visit him.

Bog in vapors he suggests... :D

You should see his beautiful and sexy wife. Lucky man Indeed! :sasmokin:

The machine works so simply that at first I couldnt figure it out. You turn it on and its already set for 390. It preheats in about one minute and the hose holds a nice large bowl. It seems quiet and you can just leave it on all day. Shutting it off just means a one minute warm up and it takes that long to load a bowl.

The draw is easy as long as you dont cram the bowl and the grinder prepares weed well for this method. It lasts awhile and when you taste that funny burnt popcorn taste its done and all used up very nicely. The hits are smooth as hell but you take in a lot like with a volcano bag. I can sometimes draw almost a full lung full right through the hose.

The strains taste come through well for a vape and its because temps are closely controlled and the draw is about right in most cases. You can take to much and cough but normally we cough a lot less using the vape compared to a joint. Will it replace joints? No but it is the most modern version of a Hooka and I do sit at my computer with the hose reaching perfectly.

The stash doesnt burn up in the machine unless you toke it so one person can have it going for quite a while. It is the best modern technology has to offer a stoner really. I just love mine and for about 300 its worth the price. BOG

Have a sneak peek at Lifestar 2nd bx not for sale...but eventually.
