Octo Scrog!!! DWC 1000w hps

Ok so fuck this heat wave!!!!! I put the newly used a/c it blows cold but the compressor doesnt stay on the whole time. So lets say its blows cold 50% of the time and the other 50% is just pushing around room temp air. Anyone know how to make the a/c compressor stay on the whole time??? Maybe I can bypass the thermostat? anyhoot temps where going up to 95 durring the hottest part of the day which was around 100 degrees today, then going back down to about 85 while the a/c would blow cold. Thinking of adding co2 to compensate for the higher temps, anyone know the max temp for co2 enriched rooms?

Also I added a Oceanic 1/10 hp water chiller hehe it was 389.00 retail, I got it for 234.00 ahahhahahah so happy about that. So soon enough my water temp issues will be gone I guess it takes a few hours to chill all that water. So the day was spent making BS air blocks to direct the cold a/c air right into the back of the fan, installing the a/c which sucked, installing the chiller then moving it out of the room because it makes heat also... did I say FUCK THIS HEAT WAVE Time for a 4/20 day smoke/.... Oohhh yeah Happy 4/20 everybody

I'm not a HVAC guy, but...
Compressor issue might be due to freezing up. Most won't stay on continuously because they'll freeze and stop working (until they thaw again). So IMO you don't really even want to rig it to run continuously.

I looked at your set-up and I had a thought, I know your venting your hood but do you vent your room as well? the fan pointing down is just blowing the hot air near the top of the room. move that fan near the bottom (cooler air) and vent the air near the top of the room (hotter air). Good luck!

You better get something that seems hot. You should be running some aquashield as well. If you cant get them temps down theres gonna be trouble fast. Try putting that insulation foam bubble stuff on top and around the rez and use the aquashield if you can get your temps down to 72 then you can make it with just the aquashield.

I tryed at leaste 20 different step ups since then trying to get a good temp... I ended up using a/c and setting up the fan right in front of the a/c. Man I keep going back to the hydro shop, today I got a co2 regulator and sealed the room better, so Im wondering what ppm should I run the co2 at? I read 1500 is a good constants ppm to shot for, everyday I work on the room and its seems to be coming together much better. Tomorrow Ill add some more pics the plant are freakin blowing up!!!!

35% h202 will kill the beneficials in AquaShield making it worthless.

You need to choose one or the other.. not both!

Also make sure you are keeping that AC fan speed on low. Most make the mistake of cranking the AC fan on high. Setting it on low will allow that hot air to slowly pass over the coils - allowing it work better and more efficient.

Man, that fan is way, way over the top. You need about 1/3rd of that air movement to keep things moving along.

Love that SCROG.

You'll want to paint out the whole room with KILZ primer - at least two coats. If you put a false floor in - just a few inches - you can prevent pretty much any kind of real leakage issues (for when you are away from home) that will give you an open site drain that you can port your reservoir to for changing out nutrients. Once you have it in, you need to get some silicone calk and calk EVERY SINGLE joint in the floor, walls, ceiling, receptacles and build-out and fully enclose the a/c unit.

With me, I spent more time on design issues than actually building it and that tells you something; good planning will make the execution of ongoing operations a friggin' snap.

ponicallymade is right on . Just use the aquashield it builds good bacteria in the root zone you only have to add it like every 2 weeks just for precautions since you got the chiller. Sounds like you got it down.A little advice if your gonna go for 20 inch colas plan on stringing them up late in bloom I had them fallin all over the last week. This is what they'll look like.

Well its been a few days and its time for an update. I did a rez change out today and brought the ppm up to about 890 using FNG with the FP and FB I used a bit more than half dose with the FP and FB. I have my co2 up and running also going off twice an hour for 15 minutes. Im hoping to only veg for 2 more weeks max until I get 80% of the screen filled. The last OG finally rooted man it took 19 days to push roots out the bottom I was scared for a bit there Every thing is stable now PMM at 890, PH at 5.78, water temp at 68 to 70, and air temp never goes over 84. So im hopping everything turns out well.

dwc I run my ppms a lot lower than normal like about 450-500 when there that size just keep an eye out for tip burns roots look good tho nice grow.

Morning Dankinstien,

I was looking at your rig, comparing the different growth patterns on our Chem-D's. I'm curious how far away your light is from the top of the plants? They look a little stretchy compared to mine, so I'm thinking your light may be too far away. I've got my 400w's glass hood enclosure only about a foot off the top of my plants (actually only about 8" right now, but I haven't moved the light yet during the grow, it was 12" a week or two ago).

That close (12") may be overkill with the 1000w, but if you've got an enclosed, vented hood, IMO it's better to try to get it as close as possible without burning or bleaching the plant than the other way round. Light output falls off logarithmically with distance from the light...for example, the output at 20" is not just half what it was at 10", it's much less.

Anyway, man I wish I had all the tech toys you've got. CO2 and chillers and A/C...by the second or third run with your rig when you get it all dialed in should be killer.

The light was at about 4ft for awhile I was worried about burn, but 1.5 weeks ago I moved it down to 2ft, I was reading that about 1.5ft is the lowest you should go for a 1k light. I tend to take my hobbies a bit far, when it comes to using good equiptment. But im hoping it all pays off in the end, as I wont have to pay outragous prices for bud anymore. Since I smoke all day it gets be a bit expensive.

The Rule of Fives applies here, Lorddankinstien which states:

"At a distance equal to five (5) times the length of the lamp's filament the output of the lamp will be equal to the square root of the lamp's output when measured from a distance equal to the length of the lamp's filament."​

Enclose the lamp and you should be good to go. I use a Kool Tube in a vertical configuration and the plants get right up to the glass with no burning. With that hurricane force wind fan you got blowing in there, I wouldn't think heat would be an issue.

So today is 1 month of veg and tomorrow the lights turn off for the first time in a month, I am ready for 12/12, I know the OG could use some more time in veg but the chem dawg is threating to take over if I dont
So today I changed my rez to flowering nute out and set the ppm to 515 and PH is at 6.1. And for a birthday present I got a carbon scrubber YEAH im so happy I was worried about the smell getting to strong.

yep 24hrs... it was weird today it was hard to turn the lights off Ive grown used to seeing the glows come from the door.... I kept walking back and forth putting it off.... stupid I know lol... I eventually did it the room is pefectly dark almost sicking dark, no light leaks. today I got a green light so that I can go in the room during the off hours.

i wish i had a green light, at night i miss my babies! looking good dude. i love long vegged plants in scrog they work bangers. as far as 18/6 vs 24/0 i had good results with a week of 24 when my light timer broke and i had to get a new one.

So I have a question about training. Do you guys keep training during bloom? Ive read that its good to keep training them under the screen until small buds form then let them grow through, is this true? Or should I just lets them grow up now? Also I have some rust spot issues Im thinking maybe fungus so I sprayed them with an organic fungicide for good measure. But after reading through some threads it looks like it could be either over feeding or under feeding ahhhhh I hate it... I used 4ml of FNB so that my pmm would stay at about 525 ppm after being advised to do so, but now im all confused on what to do so I decided to go with the lucas formula and bump up the PPM hopefully this takes care of my problem. Also the OG plants have the shitty stems they are very weak where they connect to the main stalk, I wont be running this strain again I think. I think about this shit wayyyyyyyyyyy to much I need a break.
