IMO air stones are only really good for dwc. Or other grow styles where plants are sitting in water. My ppk got no air stone or circulating pump (like everyone else's afaik) and its fine. Hot as fuck here now but water is kept below plant roots so no problem. I never used to use air stones or circulating pumps in my coco dtw res either...
