As I've gotten older, I've become a regular reader of the obituaries (national/international, not so much local). Probably due to me getting closer to the end point, but also every year there are more and more people who were/are important to me that have actually succumbed to the Grim Reaper, and are no more.
Here is a list from the Washington Post. Many of the folks on this list are unknown to me, but after reading about their lives it's easy to see how they led lives of quiet importance. All were influential in some aspect. Feel free to comment on any individuals who held an important place in your heart/mind.
