Got some mutants? Lets check them out!

Heres what I got for ya.

This is from a pheno hunt I ran a while back on the VRK and wendell berry kush, and a few other cuts that I wanted to confirm. Out of 5 vrk beans, I got 2 females. This was the one I did not keep. I wanted to grab a picture of whats left of the top cola to document the stem before i smoke the rest. It's something I'd only ever seen once in a video.

I could tell it was different early on, but figured I'd finish her unless I saw bananas. She got pushed out of the good light towards the end, so that may be why she never densed up well, but allthe buds were very airy. She branched like crazy too. The stem was round at the base, then became boxy about 5" up, then flattened out slowly as it went up. The stem got flatter and flatter until a 1/4 of it on the side would split off into another dominant leader. This "split branching" (for a lack of a better term) was independent of the normal lateral-branching that occur at the nodes and occured 3 or 4 times (grown in a 3 gallon pot). The lateral branching was crazy, vigorous, as if little auxin were being produced in the apical meristem as it started to flatten out.

Right? Wild indeed!

The VRK is the Violet River Kush, which is a cheesequake (i think) x BOG's Blue moon rocks.

Wow, a flat stem like that is really interesting. Did you notice the shape to have any real effect on the grow? Besides the unusual looks, of course.
